SKULLBIKER'S "Whats old is new for 22 glog"

I've put this off long enough and now it's time to start "gloging".
On January 1,2022 I picked the Brainstrains again.

1423 grams this time.

And that means two more 1 1/2 pint jars for the freezer.

And they're still alive and producing.

I notice that the BrainStrains have
smoothed out considerably. Weather
related? IIRC the former pods were
bumpy.

My guess is probably the cooler weather, I should find someone to test if they're still "man-killers"! Or if they're "smooth" tasting now.

PeppaPeach and Billy Bombs

Orange Paquime, these are from seeds of the orange variant I got last season growing the Paquime Jalapenos. We'll see what happens this round.

A couple of them rocotos.

Numex Orange Spice Jalapenos, hoping for another excellent fermented sauce.

Frost warning for my area tonight so I picked another handful of Equadorian Sweet Rocotos.

Because of the frost possibility I decided to clean the Brainstrain plants of any ripe pods. Got another half a basket or about a kilo.

It’ll be a shme if they get a “Brain Freeze” tonight as they are loaded with flowers/buds.

Anyway, I’ll know for sure in the morning. If the old plants get smoked tonight there are new ones started in the shed.

wouldn't remay or some other frost cover
protect those beauties?

I remember seeing an example of the striping on Peppapeach somewhere before and couldn't for the life of me remember where. I guess I know now :-) Thanks for sharing.

Interesting trait and obviously akin to the Sugar Rush Stripey mutation, which makes sense given the shared parental lines.

Looking forward to seeing what variations I can find and relationships between thin/thick striping when I do a big F2 grow out this season on one of my recent crosses.

It was Matt Layton last summer and he sent seeds back to Chris Fowler, Peppapeach and Sugar Rush Peach (+ stripey variation) father.

Here are a few pictures from this last season. There are a couple of striped ones in each pic. I think I had one plant of three producing them.

I’ll have to see what happens this year.

My new mindset these days is if they don’t survive I’ll just grow new ones. In the case of the Brainstrains, I have more frozen mash that I’ll likely turn into powder than I could use in the remainder of my life!

The Brainstrains live on..........for now, cold front predicted again for next weekend.

The Orange Paquime Jalapeno variant plants are growing rapidly. Literal laterals coming out to play now.

When I transplanted the Biker Billy Jalapenos I just clipped off the extras. I put a few of them in a condiment cup that I had punched holes in the cover. Along came the roots, so I planted them today(like I needed any more).

The Billy Bombs are taking off now.

And, just like clockwork, I switched lighting about a week ago and here come the buds. Same scenerio for about six years.

It got fairly warm here today(mid 80's f). It got really warm in the shed where my seed trays and seedlings are!
