It's the "putting a hot dog in it" that baffles me.

BBQ = best
Iron skillet = acceptable
Water bath, served with warm kraut = solid
Steamed on a bed of kraut = excellent
Campfire = righteous
Microwave = ________________

That's right - I can't even find words.

     Also, hotdogs have decent heat capacity. Plenty 'nuff to warm up whatever choice of fresh-out-of-the-fridge hot sauce I choose to douse it with.
