hot-sauce Sorry Guys Your Favorite Hot Sauce is Bad!!!

You could try the mild version and add some of your own bonnet puree. Its not exactly low either but its about 1/4th the sodium of the "Smokin Marie".

Ofcourse Tabasco has its place. Picture this:

You and your devil dog buddies day 5 in a hide site so where around the Paktika Province, Afghanistan. You have not been replenished since this was supposedly a 36 hour op. You break out you last pack of MRE Veggie crackers, jalapeño cheese spread and 2 little bottles of Tabasco you have been holding for this same occasion. You finish what you think is your last meal.

And boom boom boom someone "The best Darn MFers best armed forces the world has ever seen. decide to drop 2 500 lbs on your target.

All you can say is USA! And then Damit I don't have any Tabasco left and I know the chow hall is going to be out of it when you get there.

This is my version of a good bad day.

That MRE jalapeño cheese spread was the BOMB! Holy shit, I forgot about that stuff! That shit is the only way on the planet you'd be able to choke those crackers down too, haha! Stuff was like liquid gold on field ops! I saw a dude get 2 of his teeth punched out because he promised to trade a package of that cheese for a pack of smokes on a field op one time, haha! Six weeks, living in a dirt hole you dug yourself. Using baby wipes to "shower" every morning. Tempers run HOT eventually, lol! He reneged at the last minute and didn't wanna give up that cheese, then BOOM! Lost his teeth, the smokes, AND the cheese!!! BWAHAHAHAHA!!!

Dude brought it on himself; he was warned, haha!
Ahhhhh, the good ol' days ;)
God, I miss the Marine Corps

What are those burgers like? And why do they shape that cracker like a piece of bread? Who's that fooling?
So the best way to describe the awesomeness of MRE menu No. 7 is... Take a cup of Ole Roy dog food, add a 1/2 cup of misery, and a pinch of run your tongue through a sandblaster. There that's my description of menu No. 7 my old time no 2 MRE favorites.

Those involved in the recipe and production of Tabasco should be brought up on charges of fraud and abuse. To think, these folks actually age a mash for three years to bring us that flavor.

I don't mind Tabasco, I think it has its place. However there are very similar sauces, and making a vinegar sauce that is hotter than Tabasco takes about 10 minutes (not fermented). Not sure if they even ferment Tabasco? I've hear yes and no, if anyone knows the definite answer I would be interested. I just think Tabasco is a bit overrated and costs too much for what you get. Still I don't hate it, and it happens to be in a restaurant I'll use it.

I live 5 mins as the crow flies from tabasco farms. I dont like it nor texas pete and all the other red water/vinegar varieties out there. Dont be ashamed.

Next time i am out on a boat next to their farm land I will take a picture of their field signs for “no trespassing”

I've gotta say, I recently visited Pepper Palace (extremely limited on the time I had there) so I only sampled a couple sauces, but I fell in love with their La Diablesse sauce. It tastes amazing and I was surprised by the ingredient list. Still the best sauce I've tried to date.

I know they grow them in Mexico now due to volume. Perhaps they still grow some there?

Unsure, never took an actual tour despite living so close. Just saw their signs while on a boat ride in the Vermilion River.
