Today we were walloped with a snowstorm in Southwest Virginia and since I was taking some pics of the snow I thought I'd also get started with sharing my pepper progress.

Taking pics and posting the same day is the lazy way of keeping track of things for me...
 
Baccatum x Chinense F1's seem to really do that (show aspects from both species). Well, at least with the two different ones I have crossed.

My Aji Lemon x NOT Dorset Naga (unknown red Chinense--possibly Aji Umba) F1:

You can see how it's taken on Chinense structure but has also kept the Aji Lemon sprawl.

What is really interesting is that the pods mature to red but keep the Aji Lemon flavour. And even more interesting is that it seems to be hotter than both the Aji Lemon and NOT Dorset.... :crazy:

Success rate, hmm... not 100% and I don't do enough of them to give you an accurate number. Generally, it's definitely doable, but I had a few that didn't work out despite giving me seed.
