Pimenta da Neyde x Bhut F2... I wasn't counting on purple being so dominant here, will have to pick a few from these to grow out:

Here are some of my 2013 treasures.

I was able to start four C. galapagoenses (they didn't all come up on the same date):

The snow is awesome, although I barely made it home on these slippery roads.

Some more of my 2011 crosses:

Sonoran Chiltepin (Capsicum annuum var. glabriusculum) x 7 Pot Barrackpore (C. chinense) F1:

CAP 501 (C. chacoense) x Bhut (most likely, but potentially another C. chinense) F1:

It's okay, there are more not in that shot ;)

Nice looking plants, we are just getting the snow right now.. hopefully not too much..

Thanks, yeah, it'll melt before you know it anyway...

Have you smelt the Galaps yet?

Indeed I have! I kept brushing up against the large one there to get a shot of another plant and it smelled like paint... in a good way :drunk:

I find my chacoense crosses have a very distinctive odor, especially noticeable when I water them after they get dry...

I have at least 3 of these, maybe 5 laying around the house, they all don't look identical so I really don't know what's going on. Some look like a regular chacoense, others definitely a cross... all grown from seed from the same pod. The first one which ripened off that plant, and I believe I pollinated it with a bhut, but not 100% sure...

Oh man, this is gonna be such an awesome glog to follow, Charles! Nice list and super keen to see how some of those crosses are gonna turn out! Are some of them the ones you were keeping a secret?

I have actually been trying to cross CAP 501 with Bhut myself... so far though, still no luck (although I did manage to get a special Annuum x Chaco to take though and *possibly* a second :D). Seeing as I can see the results from yours though, I might have to start trying to cross it with another Chinense now. You can see the Chinense in there, can't you?

So inspired right now I might just have to start one or two of my new crosses now instead of waiting for next season....... ;)

Can't believe how furry those things are.

I know, they're really great. C. praetermissum, cumari pollux at least, is also very furry and a robust grower, easier to take care of than galapas for sure.

Thanks Jonny, I really was not expecting that cross to happen, but it did, definitely with a chinense. I overwintered the parent CAP 501 and it looks like it'll survive, so I'll make some more controlled crosses now that I know it is capable. If they're flowering, may as well right? I can send you some seed of whatever I manage to keep alive too later on down the road.

I wasn't planning on planting any of my Galapa seeds but you inspired me to throw a couple in the trays. Dang it. . . . .I think I may have a problem. :banghead:

If I can just get these to flower, fruit and ripen before the season is over I'll be happy. The year I get a healthy mature galapagoense and a solid harvest I'll be a happy man...
