Spicy Chickona's MMXIII Grow Log

Hello everyone.

Wasn't going to do a grow log this year, but then thought maybe someone could learn from my mistakes. ;o(

So here we go. last year I started my plants mid January and paid the price with mr frost, it was difficult watching everyone starting their plants.

Start off with the building of the new grow light boxes and maybe will get some germination going by tomorrow.

Like the photo art, and the before and after shot pit and garden.

10 day burn........wow, add that fire in with the other definitions, (at least where I'm located) to the "Northern Light".

Great updates, I know you were away for a period of time...the catch-up with the glog was fun to read.

Winter is upon us here in northeastern Wisconsin and so the 2013 grow season has come to a close.

Although our passion for growing chili will never fade, we will not be growing this next season; after 36 years of growing chili’s I need a break. I am 53 years young as of this year and would like to pursue other passions before time slips away.

If you have been following any of my posts in the last couple of years, - Greenhouse Makeover, Cellar Grow Room, or Spicy Chickens growing seasons, I thank you for tagging along and the kind annotations.

I will miss the learning from others here, beginning now on I will have to live one of my passions through other great growers here on The Hot Pepper. I will be lurking. ;o)

I leave you with a couple pics; a portion of this year’s harvest, plus an oil painting of our pepper garden this year, we will miss this view especially with morning coffee and a stroll down through the rows. :o(

Jeff Wardecke here wishing all of you the Warmest of Holidays and filled with good Cheer. ;o)

You'll still be growing chiles won't you Jeff? Just maybe not in commercial quantities... I've learned a heckuva lot from your grows and hope to still see ya around. Have a great holiday yourself!

My first year here, and just seeing what you did this year was amazing.

I'm in the same boat, too many hobbies, or endeavors and just not enough time. So I feel ya!

My first car was a '65 Nova, built it into a pretty radial ride in '74. Before I die I want another, sad thing is if one can find one they cost a ton!

Enjoy your life!
