Spicy Chickona's MMXIII Grow Log

Hello everyone.

Wasn't going to do a grow log this year, but then thought maybe someone could learn from my mistakes. ;o(

So here we go. last year I started my plants mid January and paid the price with mr frost, it was difficult watching everyone starting their plants.

Start off with the building of the new grow light boxes and maybe will get some germination going by tomorrow.

Thanks Jeff, didn't get a chance to do much this last summer, Manoman do they go by quickly!! I think you seen the tractor I restored but other than that I only had time to make the fire pit in front of the Pepper Shack.

Winter is upon us now and things pretty much shut down in the construction area. hopefully next summer will allow some work on the upstairs area. Need that space very badly.

Anywho here is a couple of pics of the fire pit area, I removed about 24 inches of topsoil, mainly with the skidsteer but all of the sand we hand loaded and unloaded. farmer down the road gave us the sand. We hauled it in one wagon load at a time, 25 total. The sand in that area now is about 30 inches deep. No rain sits there anymore. ;-)

Digging the filter affect on the pictures, some would make awesome prints. If you don't mind, which one are you using, almost looks mosaic.

Adobe Photoshop CS6 extended, filter oil Paint. Plus a few other programs for effects. Hear is a mosaic style.

how deep is that fire pit?

Hey Papa sic,
Always a pleasure, The pit is about 30" deep and 6 foot in diameter, we have plans to build a interchangeable electric spit to fit across, one strait bar for roasting a pig and one a cage for roasting peppers. lol ya just what I need another project.

Before the pit area was complete we did have a few fires, the wood seems to last for ever as you can see from the 2 pics, day and night same pile of wood burning.

We used this area after being finished for the annual corn roast and the chili cook-off. fire never stopped for 10 days. :onfire:
