My 10 year old is responsible for the artwork on the cups!

My BC is close to 5' tall and wide. That thing is a brute!!! The leaves almost look like a rocoto or manzano eh? Without the fuzz. Deal me in on the training? When is this run going down?

Holy ish! just wow!!!!

That's exactly how I felt!

...you've got enough heat to carry you through the next decade.
No kidding! Its been a banner year for sure, and still several months to go!

Wow! Again, an awesome harvest! Nice work. Loved the manzanos and the bishop's crown. Those BC's are just an amazing plant.
Thanks Andy! Two of my absolute favorite plants...and to think I had never even tried either before this season!

Wowww That is incredible. That Primo is a must grow for me next year. You have just convinced me. I have to hit up pepperlover and get me some seeds ASAP. I want to purchase from her to support her... :fireball:  :hot:
Fun plant...still haven't eaten one of those. Maybe later today??? Pepperlover will do right by you for sure...

That's a sick looking primo...
Thanks, the plant is loaded with super sick looking pods. Fun to take pics of as they ripen. Each one is new and different.

 Dang that is A LOT of Hot Peppers!
Thanks for the Pod Porn too!
Mark
Thank you Mark! I enjoy taking the pics, just getting harder to find the time these days. I will shoot some more in a bit of the more interesting pods.

They are very similar to my Manzano's in growth habit, almost vine-like. May consider growing a short row of them next year and use a Florida weave type trellis for them to see how big they can get.

Training is going OK, falling a little behind. I ran 20 or so miles yesterday and really struggled. Ran out of water and it was super hot...once we finally got to some water we were already behind on our hydration and never could get caught back up. The final couple climbs were more of a crawl than a run, but I got out there and did it. Will be out again tomorrow for 10-15 miles. The event is on 17 November...never enough time. Ughhh.

that primo is a wicked looking pepper.

great harvest!!!
I really like the looks of them Ben...now if I could just muster up the courage to eat one!

Now thats a harvest my friend!
Thanks Jamison! I have officially run out of room! I have a stand up freezer that may have to get put into action soon!

Here's a few more shots from today...

Dinner time! Then hopefully over to you all's glogs!

Whoa, fantastic!! Thanks for the poddage update!

Also appreciate your thoughts on partial smoking and then finish with the dehydrator. My smoker (electric) runs pretty hot, so I'll dial back the time in there and then transfer. I don't have a huge crop like yours, but plan to compare small portions of smoked vs non-smoked. Powders are the thing for me now, though I still plan to maintain a big stock of pickled jalapenos and salsas.

Looking forward to reading your entire Glog when our season shuts down...

Lol Shane you got buckets of pods and a table full of heat, but no drink come on man where is the secret elixir :drunk: . All the pods look perfect man now nobody will ever believe you had any set backs. Plants keep chugging away :woohoo: we still a couple months so I know the next harvest will be in tubs.

Hey Shane. Did they hook you up with reaper seeds and u didn't tell us. Those are awesome looking reapers. ! Deng. I'm at awwww. Wish my local nursery had plants like that. My BC grow wide. Hmm maybe a cross. Will post photos mañana. With all them primos I think it's time for a video review

Hi Shane
No wonder we didn't hear from you until now... you've been too busy harvesting to troll the glogs! Good thing you had a big breakfast before going out there. Love me some of those Huevos Rancheros! I've been saving the rest of my Jalapenos to get ripe and make Moritas, but now I think I'll sacrifice a few and make a batch of Black Beans in the slow cooker. ;) Still not crazy about the idea of eating a whole superhot by itself, but I had a Naga Morich in a chicken sandwich yesterday after saving the seeds, courtesy of Chris at Joyner's Hot Peppers. So gradually I'm ratcheting up the tolerance...

Thanks! I wouldn't wish reading this entire saga on anyone!!! I have been toying with the amount of smoke all season, fun stuff. Powders are the only way to go for me. Not a big fan of pickled, but I've put a few jars away for my son/daughter they really like them.

WTFFFF are you eating pods whole and shitting super seeds..... ughhh...... What a harvest.... looks like fking grocery store..... :fireball: :onfire:  :woohoo:
Nope Pia, just the opposite. Eating the seeds and producing the pods! Funny you mention grocery store, I am still toying with the idea of a farmers market for next year, we shall see. I used to do woodwork for fun, then someone offered to buy a shadow box from me...then another and another. Once it became a job I no longer enjoyed it. I don't want my garden to turn into that but maybe. It requires several certifications/inspections, permits and licenses...sounds like no fun to me!

Fernando, I was completely OUT OF BEER!!! Ughhhhh...Momma finally ran to the store for some last night, but I sure could have used one after that harvest! I don't think any more of my harvests will be this big, but we'll see??? The plants are starting to die off faster now from their issues, but I still have more than enough to keep my good for a while!

They're not "Reapers" but they sure look it. I'm not eating any raw supers 'till after my run in November. I may try one with a meal though. We shall see. I tried to talk you into stopping by that nursery!!! That Barrackpore looked half dead when I got it from them, overwatered, yellow and leggy. Now it looks better than most out there! I would sooner eat a primo than one of those freaking pods!

+1 video review
Ummmm...NO!

With all my issues at work (even more drama than before). I have been coming home less and less. I was getting home a couple times during the week before, but those days are gone. I am now up there Monday-Friday and here on the weekends. On top of that I have my training going on, and my son's football games to attend that have priority on Saturdays. So I am down to Sundays :mope:, that is unless we get a three day weekend like this one!!! So stand by for more updates!!! lol

Crazy harvest, man. A counter-top full of heat.
Thanks Doc!

I decided it was time to sample a Primo...the wimpy way! Popper style...

Here are the candidates...Jamaican Hot Yellows, Jals, Bishop's Crowns, a Black Naga and a 7 Pot Primo. Disregard the Goccia D'Oros in the upper right...

Here are the mean ones...I left all the placenta in tact...big mistake.

Primo popper just before I popped it....WOW!!!

One helluva pepper. In spite of the cream cheese, bacon and grilling this pepper put a hurt on me but good with a whole mouth burn. Instant hiccups, sweat and teary eyes followed by almost immediate gut burn. The flavor was VERY strong overpowering chinense. Not terrible with all the flavors mingling but really scary that the flavor was that powerful through though all the other flavors going on. I dunno if I wanna try one of these in a real review, its gonna suck for sure. The burn subsided after about 8-10 minutes, but the gut burn held on through dinner. Great powder candidate...

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and Labor Day!
Shane

I'm telling you Pia, that little pod was melt your face off hot! I didn't even get around to the Naga poppers. All I could do was eat to try to get rid of my stomach burn. The Bishop's crowns, which I love to eat raw, looked very cool but were not as good for poppers. Too sweet for me. They may be better stuffed with something other than cream cheese, but not as a traditional popper.

Holy :censored: Shane... it sounds like the cream cheese and bacon fat just spread the capsaicin around in your mouth and system that much faster... That Primo sounds like it's weapons-grade! :flamethrower: :mouthonfire: If you say it was too much, then I know where to draw the line! Nice looking presentation though... :hell:
