a few pics of the plants in Airpots. The two Forbing Nagas...
... and the Aji Oro, which is finally putting on new growth. I picked a handful of ripe pods from it and chopped one of them into an egg-n-cheese sammy. Very mild flavor and next to no heat, so I chopped the rest into another sammy with the runt TS Yellow pods... definitely some heat there, but it'll take full-sized pods for them to reach their full potential.
I didn't wear gloves when seeding the dried Gochus yesterday so I have a case of "Hunan hands" today... Lol!
Time to tie up the 'Maters again and mix up some liquid nutes for the in-ground plants. Have a great Sunday all!
Those Forbing Nagas look fantastic. Can't wait to see some pods. Gary grows some great varieties. Didn't get a chance to grow them this year. Will try next year.

I just hope it stays warm long enough to get a decent harvest. 90 days may be long enough for the Piment Capri and Bonnets, but I'm not so sure about the other Chinense varieties. LOL on the "Hunan hands", been there done that. The worst was with Reapers a few years ago; funny how it hits the next day.

Thanks for the offer Rick, but Gary ended up sending me some seeds a couple months ago. Didn't have enough time to start them this year. They are on the top of my list next year along with some Bonda Mahala he sent me.stickman said:

Rick good to have you back.After topping and trimming the plants indoors I have concluded that it is not in my best interest.I had so much clutter growth in the middle where the fork would be I had to trim every plant I topped, Once I cleaned that out the plants have taken off.

Looking good Rick especially the plants in the Airpots... Gochu's clearly the most productive of my chilli varieties thanks to you ... both plants have settled into British weather and enjoy the sunny spells

I know the Scotch Bonnets take about 90-100 days to maturity after flowering, so I'm pretty sure I'll get at least a fair crop of them before frost. I'm pretty certain that the Piment Cabri will as well since it grows wild where it comes from. The Nagas and Scorpions are tropical peppers though, and they just started setting pods last week. It's only 90 days from then to the first weekend in October, and frost could come any time after the 12th. Thanks for the good vibe... we'll just have to hope for the best and roll with whatever comes. <shrug>

There's some truth to what you say Randy... I notice the same habit in the plants I cropped with the exception of the Piment Cabri. The cold, wet conditions we had here this spring and early summer seemed like it did the same thing to the plants I didn't crop as well, so it's a little hard to pin down the exact cause.

I harvested my Garlic today... time to put it up under cover so they can dry out of the sun.
The Cilantro all came in at once when things finally warmed up here... anybody have some good ways to put it away for the winter in large quantities? Hope you all are having a great weekend.

Jayhawk country is about to be getting spicier lol. I just have a reaper and a ghost from the local nursery, I topped the reaper but he ghost already had flowers so I left it alone. The ghost has probably 30-40 pods now and is shorter than the reaper, reaper has 3-4 pods now and flowers everywhere, its hard to say if topping made a difference so far. On my bell peppers it seemed like the ones I didn't top are doing better, but not anything too noticeable.
