Stickman's 2017 Minimalist Glog

Welcome back Rick. Peppers seem good and congrats on a decent garlic harvest. I can smell some fresh salsa already :)
Cheers Uros, It's good to be back! I'm finally gaining on the backlog of household chores and starting to catch up on everybody's glogs.
You bet it's salsa time! We've been getting our fill of fresh Pico de Gallo with all this fresh cilantro to use up before it bolts. I'll have to make another planting so we'll have it when the plum tomatoes start to ripen. [emoji2]

Cool! Have you grown supers before? It can become an addiction... [emoji6]
The jury's still out here about cropping. Spicy Chicken got good results, but I suspect they may have been the result of really rich soil, long daylight hours at his latitude and the warm spell we had for a few years there. We seem to be moving away from that lately...

Jayhawk country is about to be getting spicier lol. I just have a reaper and a ghost from the local nursery, I topped the reaper but he ghost already had flowers so I left it alone. The ghost has probably 30-40 pods now and is shorter than the reaper, reaper has 3-4 pods now and flowers everywhere, its hard to say if topping made a difference so far. On my bell peppers it seemed like the ones I didn't top are doing better, but not anything too noticeable.

Glad it got there Rick!

Mostly B-goats, a couple of White Bhuts, Aji Lemons, Scotch Brains, JA Habs, and a few Jimmy Nardello's.
Cheers Scott, they eat well indeed! I had a B-goat in a breakfast sammie yesterday and a White Bhut today... Glad to know there's some Scotch Brains in the box so I can get an idea of what to expect when/if mine ripen. [emoji106]

Hi folks, and welcome to the weekend! :P  Lots to do in the veggie garden today before it rains, but I thought you might enjoy a few Dawn Patrol pics from the chile garden now that things are starting to shape up nicely.

The biggest producers this year will probably be the Forbing Nagas that brother Gary shared. The phenotype is still a bit unstable in that there is some variation in the color of the leaves and the size of the plants, but looking very good for poddage!

The Bonnets and Bonnet cross aren't far behind. I'm also starting to see pods with the "correct" shape as well.

The smallest chile plant was the Alphanerdz Douglah for the longest time, but it seems to be heading toward pod production at speed now.

Piment Cabri pods are pretty small... about nickel to quarter-sized but the plant is prolific. Sorry for the blurry pic... the camera's flash quit.

The Rosemary pepper has about a dozen pods set, and one is starting to ripen.

Brother Randy's Nuclear Cross is also looking good for pod production.

That's all for today folks... have a great weekend!

Excellent Bonnets. The Forbing is looking good. Gary just posted one of his plants. Great looking pods you guys have. Still no pods in this end. Well a few. Randy's Nuclear looks like it will be a hot one. He grows some amazing pods. His Scorpion he sent me last year was really hot!!

Take care buddy.

Enjoy the weekend.

Chuck
Thanks for the good vibe Chuck! The Forbing Nagas sure look like winners... Wanna trade some of your heat for some of our cool weather? I think if we split the difference we'd both do better...[emoji6]

Cheers Randy! Things are finally starting to really move here, and I'm beginning to feel like we may get a fairly decent harvest here after all... Thanks for the offer though. [emoji2] [emoji106]

Hi folks, I hope you all have good things in the works today! I gave my chiles their weekly feeding of liquid nutes...

...and so far so good!

A cross-section of the pods growing here...

This P. Dreadie plant is the only Bonnet to set "correct" pods, but they're all loaded!

The Piment Cabri is also loaded with small-ish pods with an interesting shape. I hope the flavor is too.

TS Yellow is done with the runt pods.

Gary's Forbing Naga is apparently not stable yet. I've got at least 3 different phenotypes in the 4 plants I'm growing... not that I'm complaining, they all look awesome! One even has that neon green in the unripe pods that says "Naga King" to me and another has sort of purple shoulders.

Cheers D!  We could get frost anytime after the end of September, but usually a week or so after Columbus day.  I get the feeling it may be on the early side this year, but we'll see.
     Cheers! :)

Really lush, healthy-looking plants there Rick! I'm so glad you're growing the Papa Dreadie...It's such a wonderful plant and pepper...Erin did an amazing job with them...❤

Wow, and those Forbing Nagas seem to be really popping for ya! Thanks so much for growing it! Your grow is part of the F3 population, so there will definitely be some variation...I even have a plant producing yellow pods...
