lime adds so much to an al pastor taco!.

I thought we were talking about Pho?

If I don't get a wedge or two of Limes with my tacos, I have a shit-fit.

Right there at the drive thru restaurant.

***NOT a Lime hater***

Ask me about the time back in 2015 when the Mexican Cartel drove the cost of Limes up to $2 each. EACH!

True story.

They were holding the trucks hostage or some such shit. Their "embargo" on America. Scoogle it.

It's really hard to find good al pastor tacos. I've been to restaurants that were great but their al pastor sucked and that is the case with alot of them..

I'm hungry

Me too dude.   I'm chowing down on cornbread right meow.

This is literally the only good Mexican place.  I used to get food here when I was a teenager.  Back then it was only a tiny hole in the wall.

My spot is pretty baller, but we've been doing more Tex Mex lately (also take-out) so there hasn't been a post from there for like a year or so, now ...

Anyways, the neighborhood real-Mex spot is killer for more authentic dishes, and has a bakery and carniceria, and is within 5 mins by car - all back roads ...

It's always a good sign when - you know - Mexican families actually eat there and celebrate the place: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1247995108592023&set=a.139401756118036.24832.100001446387371&type=3&theater

The truth is that the ample chorizo "juice" involved in the cooking of the authentic place's cuisine is a little bit digestion-disruptive comparatively to the Tex Mex place we've been frequenting this past year (which has a convenient drive-through pick-up window around back) ...

They use primarily dry spices, and less chorizo/fat ...

The food sits more gently in the belly, for us ...

Our joint in Twisp is fricken awesome. It's called Lafonda Lopez, and their menu is kinda weird, 50/50 Italian/Mexican. Authentic as it gets, no one there speaks hardly any English. There beef tacos are so damm good... and yes, served with Limes!

"We have recently added outdoor seating options here at LaFonda so you can continue to enjoy the quaint hospitality of the town of Twisp while enjoying the finest Mexican fare in town. Late afternoon shade also ensures that your food is the only thing that will be cooked with our hot summer sun!"

That picture kinda sucks. The avacado looks huge but it's just a slice. The seasonings they use for that beef is indescribably good. I wish I knew what they were but part of the enjoyment is going there. I don't have to make EVERYTHING myself, at home. lol

And their beans. Something special there too.

I've never ordered anything from the Italian side of the menu but word around town is that it's fabulous.
