I do not know.  I noticed it this weekend and the hive is up in a tree along my fence line.  It was a pretty nice sized hive.
Be careful around those things, a friend of mine got stung on his hand from the ones in my yard a couple of years ago, and it did some damage.

Those pickles are going to be good. I still have a couple gallons of Reaper pickles I did a couple years ago. I heard you and Rick talking about the ferment. I'll have to try that next month. I like to pickle carrots as well. Yum!
I have some carrots and it my first time growing them. If I get a decent harvest I may try to ferment them too.

I don't have good luck growing carrots. I gave up on them. I usually just buy a big bag of carrots to process. I can pick pickler cukes at a local farm, $10 for two big baskets. They also have Jalapeños, Barkers, Poblanos and New Mexicans for .50 a lb. if you pick them. I don't grow any of them either. LOL!

Regarding the bees, get rid of those bastids before they really colonize and don't want to leave. Once bees get comfortable they like to come back year after year. I had them borough into some cedar siding and they came back even after proper pest control.

The grow though is a thing of beauty!

First ever carrot harvest.

From top right....Mystery Wine, Guajillo, Aji Jobito, Aji Margariteno...going clockwise. I really need to put in a few hours of weeding and staking but it is just too hot.

Yellowjackets are bad, but Bald-faced Hornets are worse... kinda like the difference between a Black Bear and a Grizzly.

Nice job with the pickles Terry. I hope you like 'em. Sorry to hear you lost your Manzano to a squall. I feel for ya bro... I had it happen to me before too. Glad to hear you're staking the rest to prevent more from going south. Cheers!

Bunnez, Mine hasn't been back since I caught it and petted it for a while lol.

Nice mini harvest, Getting some mystery wine here as well. LMK how the Margariteno tastes.
I tried that one tonight and was not impressed. The Jobito was nice and finished with the faintest hint of heat. That was the first Margariteno, I want to try another before I write them off.

Thanks Rick. It looked like a little bit of fermentation has started, but the brine is still clear. I hope Ibsee some more activity when I get home tomorrow.

Those are NOT yellow jackets and they will destroy any bee/hornet around. They are European Hornets and twice the size of any native hornets. That is a full size apple they are on, notice the fly? See how small they are when compared to scale?

Things are looking good up your way Terry! ;)

Peppers, Tom's, Cukes, and Carrots! Oh my!

Bees, hornets, and wasps...not for me, I get like the guy in the pic. Benadryl is my friend, LOL. Sorry about the plant damage
