Never question the price of a real delicatessen sandwich. You don't look at the price, you look at the meat! True story.
I would assume you're from New York with that statement, I'm from Long Island originally. And totally agree. Every time I visit (once a year to see family) I just die for a true deli sammy. Not to forget a Ham and egger, a knish, or 4 or 5 slices of that fantastic NY pizza! Now I'm hungry! :P

The oil looks good. I bet it turns out good. Do you just dehydrate and pop them in the oil, or do you heat the oil and then bottle it?
I heat the oil to 190f then just pour into the bottles that have the dehydrated peppers in them.

I used to use grapeseed on the wife, bet that one would of been fun
Yeah....certainly would have made it hotter.

Some infused grapeseed oil. The peppers are Goatsweed and Aji Pineapple.

Nice infused oil Terry! I made up two bottles myself... one like you show with dried Bhuts and another with de Arbol chiles and Szechwan peppercorns for cooking Szechwanese food.

You have to dry the pods first to avoid mold issues Chuck, Terry nailed the process though. I like to use untoasted sesame oil for infusing with chiles, but any oil that tastes good will work.

Wow, great season, Terry - only had time to look at your last month,
but it looks like it has been all systems go for your grow!  Your pix are
motivating me to try some infused oil and fermenting.  Good luck winding
down the season.

It's been a heck of a year Terry!

Time for a break!
Sure is Scott. This weekend I will be doing some more clean up and getting ready for winter. Last year our first frost was mid November but the days are getting shorter and I need a break.

Holy smoke! Terry
That's a lot of picking. Are you going to smoke and dry? Or make some sauce?
Thumbs up
I tried a sauce and I did not like the way it came out. I am chalking it up to the seed to pepper ratio. Most of my sauces I deseed before using the pods.

Thanks Paul. The oil is pretty easy and I find many uses for it.

I started another ferment over the weekend and made a new sauce. Smoked jalapenos, Mexican chocolate, roasted garlic, toasted cumin, toasted coriander, salt and rice vinegar. I will let this one sit till about Thanksgiving before trying it.

Big clean up day for me. I have 3 plants left. Two rocoto and my growdown Aji Crystal. The rest have been pulled and tossed into a wooded area. Some of the plants were still loaded with green pods. I picked anything that had a bit of color as they will ripen off the plants.

So this was my last harvest of the season. Some are ripe, some will ripen over time.

If anyone reading this wants all of those pods, just let me know and they are yours.

Moa, Mystery Wine, Aji Limon, Goatsweed, Baha Goat

I'm sad to see your season come to an end, but I'm sure you're more than ready!

Time to relax a bit ;)

You certainly did really well the year!

Well done, Terry!  In some ways, a frost is liberating,
putting a punctuation point on the season.  Always hate
to see all those green pods go, though.

Here, it just gets cooler and cooler, dragging the agony
out and beating the plants with wind and rain   ;)  until
I can't stand it any more

Enjoy a little break!
