They are just unproductive or you are tired of picking? Mine are loaded with flowers and pods but I was late to the game
I grew some varieties that I was not crazy about, so they are gone. Some varieties I just have enough of so they are gone. Others got yanked if I didn't think the pods would have time to ripen. The plants I have left are doing very well and are podded up.

This time of year is tough for me because I am limited to weekend gardening due to dwindling sunlight.

Got ya, I am pretty sure my entire 32 plants in the 8 * 4 sqftg won't have a single pods ripe and the plants are all 6 foot.

That's how they finish citrus when the frost comes early ...

The water freezes, not the plant/fruit ...
It's how we keep our yard's down here through those occasional freezes ...
Oh, yeah I have done that for many years. I might actually build a structure over them like a temp green house but time will tell.

That Scotch Bonnet-caramel apple butter looked really tasty! Would you post the recipe? I hear ya 'bout dwindling light levels, and I'm also looking forward to taking a break from the garden and processing produce. Cheers!

This is the recipe I used. It made exactly 7 pints. I think I used 14 peppers, figured 2 a jar would be good. I food processed the peppers and added them with the apples. It set pretty nicely.

Some infused grapeseed oil. The peppers are Goatsweed and Aji Pineapple.
