Tea

I've started drinking a whole lot of loose leaf tea lately, I finally moved up from buying cheap boxes of tea bags and man what a difference. It seemed like it would be more expensive at first, i mean $18-30+ per lb seems like a lot until you think about how much an ounce of tea really is. Right now my favorite kind of tea is Oolong, and I'm in the process of trying different kinds of it to see what I like best. I drink probably 4-6 glasses of tea at work a day lol, unlimited supply of hot water in the break room like 20 feet from my desk.

Anyone else love tea? What's your favorite kind?

Just plain Tetley teabags, proper ones, not those crappy 'English breakfast tea' ones you get abroad, you need half a pack of teabags before it even resembles tea. I like my tea with quite a bit of milk, no sugar.

Earl Gray is my favorite too (damn Captain Picard!!!!). But I'm mainly a coffee drinking, and I do the fresh thing there too...like you said TX, what a differance.

Oh yeah, I love coffee, fresh ground is fucking amazing if all you've ever had is old pre-ground stuff. I used to drink about a pot of coffee a day here but now its tea. I think i might make some coffee now though, I have this wicked kenyan grand cru coffee that is giving me a dirty look for neglecting it.

I prefer Darjeeling and some flavored/blended teas. In Germany we have tea shops in the bigger towns. They sell hundreds of blends and it's kinda science to find what you like. It's also a science to brew it. In some teas you leave the leaves. The most black teas wake you up when infused three minutes and help you to calm down in the evening when infused five minutes. South american green tea should be infused with water only 70° C hot, not boiling. Most Germans drink their tea without milk but with sugar. Northern Germans and British drink it with milk and without sugar. Russians use a samowar to brew a concentrated tea and dilute it with hot water. Mongolians scratch off their tea from pressed tea bricks and drink it with rancid butter. And drinking tea leaves some space for fights how to drink it correctly. The struggle about chili with or without beans is a children's birthday party compared to it.

BTW: Discussing coffee would make an even worse struggle. Do never start a discussion about coffee with Austrian people, especially from Wien (Vienna)! Yes Austria is that country in the Alps with the kangaroos... Do I mix up something there?:hell:

i'm a tea lover as well. I like it with nothing in it. Black and blacker. Oolong iis good, Earl Grey is my "go to" tea. Green is good if i need water for the plants.

I love fresh tea and coffee....

In the tea I used and African style tea. Very strong but so so smooth. I will have it with full cream milk and 1 sugar. Will look at the brand when i get home from work???

With Coffee I drink a mild jamacian coffee. It's hard to find but it is a truely unique flavour. Again, I will get the brand name when I get home....

Oh yeah, monkey-picked..lol..thats one interpretation of it.

Monkey Poop Dark Roast...eeek!

Supposed to be good though.
