Teaser Pic from the Taxidermist!

My taxidermist sent me a teaser pic of the King Eider I shot last year. He's almost done! I paddled WAAAYYYY off shore in the Bering Sea in kinda big seas in -25F temps from St. Paul Island on a shoestring DIY hunt to get this guy, so I'm pretty proud and want to show him off!!!!

I guessing pellets from a shot gun. If I'm right it was probably hit pretty much all over.

Beautiful bird, I can understand you wanting to have it mounted.

Wouldn't the ocean freeze solid at -25F?

I hit him in the chest and lower neck.

The sea pack came in during that night, no more hunting. It was -40F the next morning!

Don't hold me to this and I don't know what temp exactly, but I believe the more saline the water the lower its freezing point.

True Josh. Normal sea water will freeze at -2C or 28F.

It IS fake. It's a dead bird posing as a live one. And an awesome representation at that! Gorgeous mount!

Yes but a mount is made to look like the real bird.......
