100!
What 100 really? We did 98 consecutive months since 4/2009, and in 2012 the Burger Royale was 3 individual weekends, that's +2 = 100 TDs!
Like Seinfeld, I want to end on a high! Also, I was able to compete in the last one, which was epic... and I won a crown! (I really enjoyed getting in on one again, and am glad I was challenged or I would not have.) That was a nice capper for me, I hadn't entered since 2011 (I won food-on-a-stick twice, '09 and '11--perhaps that's my calling?!).
Thanks to all who entered over the years. Was there drama? Of course! Was there passion? Indeed! And we saw a lot of the best food on the net, and we know it. The bar was repeatedly raised and we found ourselves searching for a word greater than epic!
Why are they ending? They ran their course. Simple. We do a few big ones a year, which the last one was, and 100 is a fitting mile marker, and marker of achievement.
For those that will miss them, I have plans for something that will let you show your chops and win something, but let's just all take a break, reflect, and congratulate each other on 100 awesome Throwdowns! And they were!
