Your daughter is a lovely young lady, I truly hope you are able to get her the medication she needs soon.

My Llanerons did not germinate either. I highly recommend a one or two day soak with a hydrogen peroxide solution; I had mold/fungus issues on almost half of the seeds that did sprout. Many of them had a hard time shedding their seed shell. I think a nice soak prior to germination will help drastically. Probably a good practice anyway...

I actually had some mold issues as well, I did soak them in a solution in the end that that helped prevent it. Only growing the Jobito ond Margariteño this year, I did buy all of them though. The others will just have to wait.

I don't want to cut anyone out, but I have 5 Jobito plants that are flowering and are totally isolated in a separate greenhouse. I plan on having pure seeds in a few months. I will be tasting peppers from all my plants, to first, see if they are truly one of the best tasting peppers in the world. If they are really that good, I will start making 1000s of seeds, and will be growing lots of these plants for pepper production. Tom

Cycadjungle,

I told people in another Jobito thread,  you were one of the first to germinate seeds back in July!  My plant is moving along but not at the speed of yours.  Looking forward to the pods later in the year.  Thanks for weighing in.  Glad to hear you are isolating.  Keep us posted.  btw, did you grow "AJI Margariteño,"  I have these sprouting and so do others, here.

This is the only one that I grew from all these. I have a limited space for growing peppers and since my pepper part of my business is Seriously Hot Peppers, I am mainly specializing in the hottest peppers around. The only reason I am trying these is that they are supposed to be so good tasting. If they turn out not to be that great, I'll just sell my plants. They certainly take a long time. I'm used to picking peppers 4 months after germination and after 5 months, I still don't even have small pods. I've already had quite a few Flowers, but not the first one seems to drop any pollen and I have yet to see any set so far. So, I'm not sure how long it will be before I get my first pepper to try. I have 3 more plants starting to ball up, so I'll be moving those into the other greenhouse as well. I'll keep everyone up to date as things happen.
I just finished a new greenhouse just for pepper plants, so at least I will have more room and will be able to grow more types and more volume of my best sellers, like reapers. I think these new CPRs are going to be great though. They are the nastiest peppers I have ever seen!

Well I started with 25 seeds and ended up getting 7 plants. Germination rate was low. These will be isolated as I also intend to produce seeds and give them away.  Here are a couple pics of my plants.

3 varieties came up for me.  Aji LLaneron, Aji Pepon, and Aji Rosita yellow did not come up for me though :(

I'm still waiting on mine to germinate, I can't find my pot of aji jobito but I have two pots labelled Yellow tepin. I'm assuming it's one of those two and I goofed

I managed to decapitate my Llaneron. I was so mad. None of the others have germinated so I started a few more on paper towels.
If nothing comes up from this batch I will get a fresh batch of seed and try again.
So I have one strong healthy little Jobito out of the 4 types I started right now

I tried 3-4 seeds of each variety, I only ended up with one Aji Margariteno plant that is doing very well and has heaps of flowers. I have enough seeds for one more go next season.

I thought my heat mat was set too high and was the cause of my germination issues, I'm not so sure now.....

I just  germinated the aji jobito's. My germ rates weren't very good. I started them in jiffy pellets in a plastic shoe box on the heat mat. My goal is to get them big enough to be able to take some cuttings off them. That way maybe I can get some clones going also.

I was looking at my Jobito flowers today and under, or inside 3 of the flowers had shiny green balls. I have to assume these set pods. Most of the peppers I deal with drop the flowers and then a pod forms on the stem that held the flower. Well, hopefully in two months I'll have some extra seeds. I can't easily put pictures in my posts here, so I'll post a picture of the flower/pods in my seriously hot peppers Facebook page. Tom

Has anyone managed to get Aji Llaneron, Aji Pepon and Aji Rosita Yellow to germinate? All the posts I've seen in glogs seem to mention failure to germinate them, so I guess I'm wondering if they are all bad seeds?

I had one of the Llaneron germinate. It was a helmet head and I accidentally decapitated it trying to free it and it never recovered.
Have ordered new seed and will try again with the fresh.

None of those have germinated for me.  Just the Aji Jobito, Aji Rosita Red, and Aji Margariteno.
