First time growing garlic for me. I planted the bulbs last fall and the seem to be doing ok. The scales are about 6 or 7 inches above the soil. Do they get trimmed or just let it go? Any fertilizing? Any tips?

You planted individual cloves and not the the whole bulb correct? By scales I'm guessing your talking leaves. Don't trim leaves cut the scapes when they start to curl, they come out usually July sometimes sooner and are round like a pencil. You'll know what I'm talking about when they come out. Neptunes fish and seaweed emulsion if you can find it, can add it to a dial and spray for the garden hose, etc.

Few quick pics after some re-potting. Have another 12 plants from the first sowing in January that are in 1 gals. plus another 30ish to re-pot and I'm done. Running out of room quick and still have another 2 months until plant out at least..lol   Official grow list below from what has germinated and looked good. Only thing not listed is a bunch of eaters that a friend is starting for me. If you see something twice it's because I sowed more then one round. Cheers

The rocoto/manzano seeds you gave me are all doing well and most are flowering already. I know they are more cold weather tolerant, do you think they would be ok outside now? Figure low temps prob 40-45 down here.

Good to hear, I would wait until night time temps don't drop below 50°F but that's just my OP.   If most are flowering already you should have no problem setting pods early when they go outdoors. A couple I sent don't mind then sun the others just grow in full to mostly full shade and you will have a ton of pods my friend.

Very nicely done! Jealous of you Ulupica...only pube that failed to germ last year. Can't wait to see all these plants out in the sun!
Thank you sir.

I was lucky with the ulupica all of the seeds except 2 were crushed in transit. Looking forward to trying some fresh pods.

Yeah, so like, do you have any MC hatchlings or did yours not pop ...

Daddy's like to know ...
No MC for me, seeds sat in dirt since Jan, just tossed them last week.

That's great thanks for posting. Calyx is def larger then normal which is a good thing. It will be cool to see if it's going to bleed. May be the first Serrano with a bleeding calyx. Cheers
