The General Taco thread. All things taco.

So, I've been wandering around the site trying to find a general taco thread. I'm sure it exists but the only thing I ran across was taco tuesdays and tex mex. I have tacos whenever I can. To hell with Tuesdays! So this is a thread to post your badass tacos. Recipe or not. Just put up a pic. All tacos welcome.

My dinner
slow cooked, dry rubbed, and smoked pork shoulder shredded and built with some of Salsa Lady's Chipotle BBQ!

Awesome!

As I have said to anyone who will listen, at least once a day, for my whole life: "Even the worst Taco I have ever had, was still damm good".

Wait. There's "other forums"? I don't believe you. Unless you're talking about that one Hogleg mentions occasionally, "Men And Their Dolls".

Your tacos look killer man.  Seriously.

As I stated on another forum:

"I have found that eating tacos regularly is the secret to living a deeply satisfying life. Besides the fact that they just taste so darn good, they are the perfect food and the ideal balance between carbs, protein, and fat. When you make the tacos with homemade tortillas, it kicks the taste factor up to a whole new level."

Forgot to post this taco cook I did about a month ago. I present to you Tacos Two Ways: Carne Asada y Chorizo on Homemade Tortillas:

Started out with some nice skirt meat, which I trimmed up a bit, along with some Salvadoran Chorizo:

Then seasoned up:

The magic ingredient - just 1 tsp per 4 oz orange juice:. The soy sauce adds incredible umami to the marinade:

Now its time to marinade:

First a layer of onion and cilantro:

Then the beef:

Then some more:

Finally, poured the OJ mixture into the bag so the beef could get happy for a while. At this point, it's time for an adult beverage. What could be better than a Margarita?

The Missus got started on tortilla making. First the flour torts:

Then the corn:

All of them together:

Fired up the Kingsford Oval:

Grilled up the chorizo and onions, then the beef:

Time to chop up the beef:

And here they are plated, for your viewing enjoyment. In the background, homemade pico de gallo with home fried tortilla chips and grilled jalapeno:
