Ah dude you make me proud ! I have created a monster and you are showing me up with your awesome plants!

I also use the dehydrator with trays. I have 5 trays so i can dry five different types of chilli at a time and keep them separated. Some get frozen and then dried out later for powders and some get frozen and used for sauces. With the current situation on getting seeds into NZ , i will saving most of my seeds before freezing now.

Hey Chris,
Have you thought about cutting the bacon up fine and combining with the cheese into the turbo pube and then grilling? Like a jalapeno popper - i would use savoury mince and cheese to stuff the jalapeno. Bacon and cheese and then grilled would probably work well with the thick fleshed pube as well.

It does kinda resemble an internal organ of some discriptioN, lol.

The mrs is knocking up a chocolate brownie at the moment, she's split it in to two tins, my tin having two chocolate bhuts added.

:D:D

It seems brownies have a number of optional extra ingredients that can be added to them!

Dude that is insane! Where do you get off showing us plants that look like that....i feel pretty inadequate now and have extreme chilli envy!

I came home from the shops yesterday to find that one of my Reapers had split at the base and was not looking good. The whole plant was wilted really bad and I thought I had lost it it.I propped it up and tapped everything together and then cut all the growing tops off as well as most of the larger leaves.Today I woke up to it looking really good.

^Hey Swampy, glad the plant is recovering!

My first brain strain pod is ripening. Looking forward to seeing how hot it really is.

So far this year my hottest plants go in this order. (the ones worth mentioning anyway)

BP3 - Bhutlah Pheno#3
7 Pot SR Strain
Douglah

I will have some primo's, brown moruga's & super hot beasts ready soon. Am keen to see how those "BP3s" really stack up. They have blown everything else out of the water so far.

My reaper that was crossed with a NuMex Twilight is getting bigger. I know they aren't mean to look different until F1, but this pod looks nothing like the rest of about 100 or so pods on the rest of this plant, the tail is there but whats up with it being so long.

Hoping to collect the seeds from this guy by mid April and then start growing it out to try get an F1 pod by next summer. and then F2 pods by next winter hopefully. Imagine that, a rainbow reaper. That would be nuts!

Some of my reapers do that and the body then fills out and i lose the tail.
I just crossed some Reapers with the Dorset Nagas and yellow Scotch bonnets.Hopefully they take :)

I took a Defcon 7 pod to work a couple of days ago. Two people who tried some could not answer the phone for about 30 minutes after eating....definately one of the hottest pods i have tried this season! I think sentencedtoburn has also been enjoying the one i gave him to try!

This weekend it is time for the 7 Pot Madballz Brown which are now ripe.

Haha yeah it was hot, different taste too, didn't smell of that chinense smell at all for me. But yeah I had half of one in my salad a few days ago and man it was awesome.

In a salad?! what a nutter.

Nah dude having them fresh in a salad is the best way to see the real taste of a pepper (i found anyway) without being silly and eating it fresh without anything else, if you cook it sure it'll be hot but the flavour changes quite a lot. And when you have it in a salad it's no where near as hot because of the rest of the food, but you still get that "off the plant" flavour.

When establishing what the real flavour and heat is in the chilli, the most accurate way is fresh on it's own or maybe with a salad. Some are good on their own and some need to be made into powders and sauces to enjoy with other foods.
Had a comparison this morning between a fresh white fatalii and fresh white bhut at work. Very interesting responses which you would not be able to compare if the chilli was in a sauce or powder.

Hey guys check this out, its on the back of the kings plant barn catalogue.
Someone at work pointed it out to me.
Im sort of tempted to go take a look and see if its the real deal. Probably a bit expensive for me to buy unless they proved to be incredibly gnarly looking.

I don't get it, are they selling reaper bushes for $20 each? Don't tell me its a single reaper pod for $20?

Edit: i wonder why they don't call them Carolina Reapers, maybe legal reasons, or they are reselling on Ed's behalf?

nzchili: if you want a couple of pods dude just cruise over I have a bunch of ripe ones I'll be harvesting this weekend, don't waste your money.

There's a sucker born every minute.....
Some people have more money than sense and don't have the basic skills to grow superhots so they have to buy the plants. Someone is making a killing!
