Looking forward to seeing the entries for this one, I have to admit ...

I already missed the point in time where I would have needed to start my graved eggs, so the thing I most wanted to do it out the window now - but we'll see ...

I'm brewing this weekend, but if I can get something done, it'll probably be on Monday ...

graved eggs can be done in a couple hours though?  or are you curing more than just the yolks?

i saw four days around the web in a few placed ... and then a couple of days or 150F to harden enough to grate ...

was interested in making my 1st DIY pasta, 1st cured yolk, and ultimately 1st carbonara ..

i look more later if you're saying there's a faster version ...

i looked at a half dozen that were all 4 days, though, and all were 1.75 and 1.25 cups ea of salt and sugar ...

Ya if you want the yolks hard enough to grate you'll need a few days - thought you were going dry outside w runny yolk inside.

It's a good idea you have there.  Hope to see you pull it off.

It's the cook I had in mind a number of months ago when it was the TD that lent itself to making pasta ... so, a pretty good while now ...

Brought in the crank pasta maker, which I haven't used otherwise yet ...

Maybe I'll tackle the dish and the pasta, and do without the cured yolks ... even though that was kind of my favorite part ...

We'll see. Love Monday's for TD's ...

Tomorrow is

The Most Eggcellent Throwdown!

This one is all about eggs. We are talking poultry eggs here, chicken mainly but alternative bird eggs allowed (chicken, duck, turkey, ostrich, goose, quail, pheasant, emu).

The challenge part 1 is, you must show one instance of a non-broken yolk egg using both parts, whether this is a fried egg, soft boiled, hard boiled... it can be broken down after cooking as in egg salad or deviled, but you must not incorporate the yolk and white during cooking and both must be visible in the presentation.

The challenge part 2 is you must also use an incorporated or separated egg. This can be anything from an omelet to a cake with eggs in it. We don't need to see the egg here but it can help. If your recipe calls for using whites or yolks only, this is allowed for challenge part 2. This opens up many possibilities!

An example would be French Toast with fried eggs, and this would cover both portions of the challenge. This does not have to be breakfast, there are MANY ways to use eggs of course! If you had plans for only one of the requirements, well just think of how you can complete the other, and note, this also helps bring everyone to a more level playing field for voting.

Can you show more? That would be most Eggcellent! Go crazy if you want. You will be allowed 10 pics for all your egg creations.

The next TD is...

Stop SmokenFire!

He has 9 crowns (most ever) and you must stop him from getting 10! He has the leg up because he will be cooking his signature dish, what you have to do is beat him at it!

May is also Cinco de Mayo! SmokenFire's signature dish is tacos with rice and beans! Picadillo to be exact (which is ground spiced meat).

How do you compete?

Enter 2 tacos on a plate with any rice, and any beans.
(1) ground protein taco which can be any protein or veg as long as it is ground/minced.
(1) Anything Goes taco, so choose your own signature here!

That's it! 2 tacos, rice and beans, one to directly compete with SmokenFire's signature, and one of your own choosing! He's not telling what his second taco is, will it also be picadillo, or another signature????

It must be presented as one plate with the two tacos, rice, and beans and that's it (garnish ok). Let's get ready to crumble!!!!!!!!! (meat, get it). ;)

Oh lawdy, lawdy. Now you've done it! Let's just get all the hard-shell vs. soft-shell vs. corn vs. flour vs. is-it-really-a-taco-at-all talk out of the way right here and now.

Ohforgoshsakes! Just eat it

Funny though, people here will argue about that very stuff G. Very good point!

Hot off the press.....

".....and in other related news, methane levels in the atmosphere are set to rise by up to 5% globally following THP's upcoming Cinco de Mayo Throwdown, being held early next month. When queried yesterday, President Trump announced there was no cause for alarm and that he had just passed a bill to build walls around Taco Bell restaurants nation wide. Activists however are calling it another hit to global warming, with worrying statistics today suggesting such a methane spike could briefly make the entire atmosphere combustible, one scientist went as far to say "all the sour cream in the world won't save us". An attempt to contact THP's owner, mysteriously known as "Boss", was made but no comment was forthright. Rumors persist, that an unpaid debt to THP member JayT, may see "Boss" defect to North Korea, to further the simmering tensions between the two nations. Here's Tom with the weather......"

Interesting stuff.
