Well, went to the ortho on Wednesday, they got new x rays and what not, they put the images up on the screen and I was like oh shit. Both knees bone on bone, so they are going to do tkr one at a time. I was f it, went out and checked out cars, found one maybe. I cant take any more damage to my body. Technically, I should have died that day, went down in front of a truck. No more riding.

Damn man, that's really tough. A friend had a TNR and it's been a game changer for her. If that's what you're looking at, I hope the same for you. The tech for these things just keeps getting better and better. Myself, I've had some very hard falls and moving much of my hard training to virtual indoor riding over the past few years has likely saved me from more. I do like to get out, but being exhausted at MHR in sketchy situations is not something I want to do regularly, anymore. I hope you're able to make adjustments and still keep doing the things you like to do.

We do not run but walk long distance. We love the Andes and escape when we can.
The mountains where there are no marked trails we prefer to go to.
Here we have many hundreds of peaks of over 4000 m /13000 ft and many hundreds more of 5000m / 16500 ft and then dozens of over 6000m / 20000 ft.
We have reached 6000. The approaches are sometimes a week or more.
Lekker stuff. Love it.
