Catnip is a member of the mint family and is really easy to grow. In the springtime, just about every single place that sells herbs for planting will have catnip for sale too at least in my experience. It has a nice pungent almost pot-like smell IMO. Oh, and i forgot to mention you can use it to make tea, I like to mix it with chamomile.

And of course cats like it too.

And skealo, you have a very nice list going there. Those sweet cherry 100s are awesome, I grew one plant a couple years back that ended up taking over my balcony. Give those things LOTS of room.

Hot Red Cheese I got from Chileplants. 5 out of 10 for Heat, thin skinned, red top-like peppers.
