Trinidad Scorpion & 7 Pot - I have a problem, and I need a cure

Does anyone know if there is a chilli anonymous group you can go to talk about your addiction for chillis, or is this forum it? ;)

I'm from Melbourne, gets a bit cold here, so I've invested in a grow tent with lighting and various fans/exhaust systems, but I need to fill it with some fine quality chillis.

I've already purchased the following from various online stores:

Naga Jolokia
Red Savina Habanero
Chocolate Habanero
Jamaican Yellow Scotch Bonnet
Naga Morich
Dorset Naga
Fatalii

I have the first 4 growing in the grow tent already, the others are sitting stashed away in a chest of drawers waiting for the cold months to pass where I can grow them outside in pots with soil.

What I'd really like is if someone can help a brother out with some Trinidad Scorpion and 7 Pot seeds. The more I read about these, the more they interest me, and given their rarity, it makes it even more of a reason to try and grow them.

I'm happy to pay, not really wanting to trade given I don't have many seeds at the moment and I dont actually have any fruit. Even if I did, given the chilli plants will be so close together, I'll have the mother of all hybrids growing if I planted them.

So, can anyone help out the man from way down under?

Fantastic, would be much appreciated.

Once I get my stash of goodies going, I'll be happy to hand out stuff left right and centre, but as you all know, you've got to start somewhere.

Whats the best bethod in drying chilli pods so they are suitable for seed harvesting?

If you want to just dry a few pods to harvest the seeds, then I'd suggest cutting the pods in half lengthwise and open air drying them in a warm, open place with good air circulation. I dry mine on a paper plate placed on my living room fireplace mantle. I keep the ceiling fan going until the seeds/pods are dry (usually 3-5 days).

I hope you don't get dissapointed with the Naga Jolokia as most people do, thinking it is a super-hot.

Are you referring to the PC-1 type? The thing is, the place I got my seeds from, the pic of the pod looks more like a bhut jolokia or equivalent.

From http://www.chillibird.com/index.php?p=1_103_Naga-Jolokia---Bhut-Jolokia:

This chilli is the hottest in the world, registering around 1,000,000 SHU.
Originating in the north east of India, it is known by a variety of names which vary between regions, such as the Naga Jolokia, Bhut Jolokia, Bih Jolokia, Naga Morich, and Dorset Naga (the selectively planted version).
Fruity aroma and flavour.
Blistering heat!!!

Ok, you've got the goods.:) Its probably better to call it Bhut Jolokia though because Naga Jolokia has become the name commonly used for the crappy pc-1 type.

Hottest in the world, gee i wish i had a Bhut to see, If the Bhut is the Bih then Nope, the Morich is Hotter, But Wait, the selectivly planted Dorset is Hotter than the Morich, have a Look and see for yaself and see if they all the same :)
Dorset Test
Morich test
Bih Test
if ya notice, the morich and Dorset were 5 cm, Bih was 6.5 cm and still not as Hot, mabbe built up a tolerance

Im so waiting to test the Scorpions and 7 Pods, see how hot they actually Are(as read / heard claims) and the naga jolokia(whatever that turns out to be), seeing is Believing

happy growing

I'm not able to watch the videos but I can tell you that I've had incredibly hot Naga Morich's(and Dorset Nagas and scorpions) and also much milder ones so you definitely can't judge them by one sample.

yup, i agree totally, and have caused harm many a time to myself trying again and again plus i can't put 10 vids of the same variety up, just saying the hottest ive had so far is the Dorset, thats caused the chest to pound on more than 1 occasion, hope the Scorpions live up to their reputation :) they should be insane

So, have you become a burden on the Australian tax payer or do you have your own health insurance? ;)

Surely you have the cleanest colon in Australia, apart from the porn stars that need regular cleaning before their movies are filmed.

the dorsets will blow your mind as hip said, have tried the milder pc1 type? not sure if that was very disapointing..have 30 dorsets growing now so plenty of seeds in months to come and i will share around..have sent twenty to Flatohep to get him started in exrteme heat and just tracked down some 7pot so comparing the two will be fun.:)...just on my search for some t.scorpions and ill be a happy bunny.

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!

More than happy to take on the advice of the respected members of this forum, but an emotional statement like this with no explanation as to why I shouldn't buy from them is hard to swallow.

Never buy from reimers. Do a search here or anywhere and you'll see.
I gave away hundreds of scorpion seeds this year and will likely have more in the fall during normal North American seed trading season but this time of year most people's seeds here are started already. Good luck in the hunt.
