Trinidad Scorpion Appreciation Grow Event 2010

Aji Combo (and Mel) I got one red trini left, too. good thing I kept the little runt, as its faster growing compatriot suddenly withered and died with six leaves on it.:tear:

My little trini is up to six leaves now, its a fighter! 5 of the yellow CARDI have 8 leaves, lost one in transplanting, dont know why. faliure to grow. That makes me six scorpion plants altogether. May I ask by the way, why are they CARDI, all in caps?
 
There are some good looking Trini scorps around here! I love pepper porn!

The seeds hit the dirt on January 14th.

I had to do some work on one of them earlier today. I'll go get the pics. Back in a few.

While watering them yesterday I found a few of these. This is a Yellow CARDI scorpion.

nice job Patrick! good pics of the roots too. Now I know what mine must be doing. That plant will be loving the extra space so get ready for a growth spurt and some massive payback later down the line.

I ordered 100 one gallon plastic pots today and picked up another bale of Pro Mix BX. I'm ready for the peppers to get their grow on.

Local place has a 20% off sale going on. The bale cost me $34.40. Sale goes on til the end of the month.
 
Its 70 degrees outside, and the sun is shining. I decided I could take the scorpions out to play for a bit!

He is my scorpion yellow CARDI that I planted as a test to see how long from seed to transplant (in rockwool). I have decided instead of wasting it, I would put it into an nft system. This particular plants info is not in the spreadsheet.

I'm amazed sometimes myself. This year is going much better then last season. Sometimes I have the idea that I can see them grow :)
 
Actually I'd say good growing medium is probably the most important factor in growing peppers and rockwool is an excellent hydro medium
