Trippaul Threat (PdN x BMJ) Community Grow

This is a dedicated grow log for Tristen's awesome cross, which I
have been growing out since 2014.  I'll start with a bit of history and
some photos documenting what's happened so far.

In January of 2014, Tristen (Trippa) sent me a little care package of seeds.
In the package were two generations of a cross he had made, which he just
called 'Mystery Cross, F1' and 'Mystery Cross, F2'.

Here's Trippa's Mystery Cross seedlings in February of 2014:

Both generations showing the purple foliage characteristic since the beginning.

Up close look at Trippa's Mystery Crosses, F1 and F2.  Both culled to a single
plant after the photo taken, so I only had one plant of each generation:

Are these plants grown under artificial light? Because, when I grow pigmented chili plants, they only get purple under sunlight...

Alright, good to see some PNW plants in the ground!

I cant wait to see my plants when we return to PNW;
they have been under lights (T5HO) since they sprouted.
They are in #2 cans, but Im sure they are more than ready
to be outside in larger containers. I saw a pic of them a while
back, and noticed a few pods on them. Hope they can hold
out until we get home.

Should be rollin into our neighborhood in about a month or a
little more. Keep up the good work with Tristen's cross, everyone!

Here's my biggest one, white pheno. They grow considerably slower than my other plants but that's probably the Chinense in them. They look so pretty though

That plant definitely looks pretty, Bernd! Should be quite a bit bigger by now.

my plants doing ok now.

I think that is quite a bit better than okay, my friend!

just found my other plant from the other variety. its not as dark as the other plant.

A little sun should darken that up just fine!

Those look superb, brother! Nice and dark...

Here's mine
Started indoors under T5's
Been outside 3 weeks now and placed in raised bed 5 days ago.
Thats what we like to see - beautiful plants in the ground! Showing some nice branching.

It is really great to see folks having such good success with Tristens
amazing cross. It will be good to see some awesome pods and harvests
As the season rolls on. Thanks to everyone who is taking part in this global
experiment. And for keeping us posted on how they are doing - good work!

Will be doing some pulls soon!

Wow, Scot! Loving the phenotype on the white pods.
The ivory color and pod shape are awesome. Really beautiful.
The purple pods have the same pheno as the plant the seeds
came from, a little more blunt, but nice girth. You are doing Tristen
proud, brother. Am looking forward to your evaluation of their
flavor and heat...

Nice looking plants everyone.
I agree, my friend! If you would like some seed for next season, just let me know
and I will send some when I get back home.

Have been getting in some nice walks in around Segovia.
The system of walking and biking paths all around the city
is very well-developed. Pretty typical of Europe in general,
in my experience.

Awesome to see all of these grows from around the world taking off. (And Paul's pictures of his going round the world as well :) ) Awesome to see pods finally taking shape.
Some questions I need to answer:
Pollen from the PDN (male) was used to pollinate a BMJ (female) flower with its male parts removed to ensure it didn't self pollinate.
The PDN father was a prolific pod producer (even in 30+C heat) , Dark Purple and tall and lanky (much as Devv has seen coming through on his growth habit) it was also one of 2 plants (out of 75) that didn't get broadmite damage that season.
The Bonda Ma Jacques mother was a pale green girl in leaf with a medium growth habit but absolutely beautiful flavoured deep yellow pods. She also was sturdy and survived multiple broad mite attacks to keep podding later in the season.
