Trippaul Threat (PdN x BMJ) Community Grow

This is a dedicated grow log for Tristen's awesome cross, which I
have been growing out since 2014.  I'll start with a bit of history and
some photos documenting what's happened so far.

In January of 2014, Tristen (Trippa) sent me a little care package of seeds.
In the package were two generations of a cross he had made, which he just
called 'Mystery Cross, F1' and 'Mystery Cross, F2'.

Here's Trippa's Mystery Cross seedlings in February of 2014:

Both generations showing the purple foliage characteristic since the beginning.

Up close look at Trippa's Mystery Crosses, F1 and F2.  Both culled to a single
plant after the photo taken, so I only had one plant of each generation:

Hey, Ben. I would be happy to shoot you some of
my F9 Trippaul Threat White Lightening 2020 seeds.
And there are a few of the F3 v2 if you are interested.
Paul, Thanks for the offer.  I am going to go with what I have right now.  I am still very concerned over the grow room issues I had last year so I don't want to take on a lot more new stuff.  If all goes well, I will reach out to you at some point for a trade for the 2022 grow season.  Thanks!  Assuming my plants don't have any horrible issues, I will update the glog with plant pics.

Understood, brother.
  Best of the 2021 season to you!

Aaaaawwwwesome    !

Nice to know the seed is viable.
Sprout looks good, nice vibrant
cotys and purple stem!

Good things ahead!

Hey Gang!

It's been a few seasons since my last grow, and even longer since I've been in the forums. I really missed it and couldn't stay away any longer. And with the extreme generosity shown to me by a couple fellas in this forum, I've been able to Jumpstart my pepper grow again!

As such, I'm happy and honored to be a part of this community grow. Just yesterday these little fellas popped and I'm so excited!

Not quite sure why my pics are sideways, nor how to rotate them sorry! Haha
Great to see those little seedlings, Randy!

I think if you edit your photo in some way
and save it, that it will post correctly. This
issue has come up before, and I think that
has solved the problem.

Alright, glad to see some success
with the Yellow version! Good work,
Neil!

Sorry to be back again so soon, but woke up to these babies taking on some nice purple.

Again, I'm really sorry for the sideways pics. I've looked in all my settings on the site, I've tried rotating the image itself prior to attaching, and even read through the image tutorial post on this site and still can't figure it out. If anyone can direct me to other options that would be awesome haha.

That is some dark purple, my friend!

Good to see them looking healthy!

Really nice looking seedlings, really
robust and healthy.

I hope the orange pods turn out as
nice as the ones last year.

My Trippaul Threat v2 F3 Yellow germination was
so dismal this time around, I tested  eight more in
some rock wool on 2/16. Yesterday (2/28) they
were 7/8 (88%) with radicles, including one with
cotys up. I think I must have inadvertently buried
them too deep in the first round.

I may try this with some of the stubborn wilds.
Maybe a few in rockwool and a few in the
AeroGarden.

Pretty good results on a rockwool test of the
TT v2 F3 Yellow seeds, following the dismal
results in the first round due to seeds being
buried too deep. Guess they are viable!

Interesting result, one of the seedlings is green.
In the F2 round, the green plant produced the
awesome orange pods. Wish I had room to
grow these out.

Both of those look good. I have seen some
variation in the darkness of the foliage throughout
the generations. Some plants are just darker than
others, but the Summer sun brings out their best!
