Trippaul Threat (PdN x BMJ) Community Grow

This is a dedicated grow log for Tristen's awesome cross, which I
have been growing out since 2014.  I'll start with a bit of history and
some photos documenting what's happened so far.

In January of 2014, Tristen (Trippa) sent me a little care package of seeds.
In the package were two generations of a cross he had made, which he just
called 'Mystery Cross, F1' and 'Mystery Cross, F2'.

Here's Trippa's Mystery Cross seedlings in February of 2014:

Both generations showing the purple foliage characteristic since the beginning.

Up close look at Trippa's Mystery Crosses, F1 and F2.  Both culled to a single
plant after the photo taken, so I only had one plant of each generation:

You may have noticed my page topper ducks are all
over the place. After the merge of my Trippaul Threat
and 2020 Grow Logs, it was a b***h trying to move all
the posts back to their right locations. I have finished
that task, but there are some posts still out of place.
Hoping this has  straightened out the Grow Logs a bit.

Please let me know if you find one of your posts is not
where you think it should be, and I'll try to get it moved
to the right spot.

Now to get back to posting news about the Trippaul
Threat cross!

Fun things happening with the v2 F2 grow.

I'm not sure what a page topper is but it's not something I would count on, let's say a mod finds a spam post on page 3 and deletes it, then it throws off all your page toppers. Or any post moderated, by mistake, double post etc. So they may have gotten messed up but like I said, they can at any time.

Now for the #2 plant.

Trippaul Threat Yellow:

Looks like some Bhut Jolokia genes in there.
Some of he pods have the same shapes as the Mojo Blue Ghost,
and the same wrinkly ‘elephant hide’ skin. The pods also
bleach to white on the sunny side in strong sun.

Last, but not least, #5.

This was the only plant with green foliage.
#1 and #2 had dark purple foliage, and #3 and #4
had a bit less dark, but still definitely purple.

Trippaul Threat Orange:

Some nice pods on this small plant Despite growing in the
same 7-gallon container as the #3 and #4 plants.

So there you have it. Real evidence that growing out
multiple specimens is mandatory with F1 seeds!
This revisiting of Tristen’s cross is proving to be cool
beyond my expectations!

Wonder what the future holds     ?

PT is a ‘game’ Shane (stc3248) started back in 2012.
The idea was to be the first post at the top of any page.
Shane invented the term ‘sniping page toppers’. Then
recently somebody suggested an image to denote page-
topping posts and we wound up with a duck. That’s why
you see posts with duck pics in them. Okay, it’s silly.

But you are totally correct, which I discovered after moving
a few posts

My list of post numbers to move quickly became useless!

Anyway the few remaining out of place posts really aren’t
worth trying to track down at the moment. Thanks for your
help with this, boss.

Here are some harvest pics I forgot to post.
From September 29th.

These tend to get more caramel/purple shading.

Wow! I know you can get a lot of variation in F2+, but I never expected it to be this crazy. Very cool to have this documented in one place. :)
Thanks for the feedback, ‘Fish. I am hoping to see some
development of these strains in the seasons to come.

Sort of like a ‘Trippaul Threat Complex’ going forward

Nicely done Paul!

Both the grow and the documentation. Looking forward to those future grows.

Thanks, DR.

Hoping to find some other growers to try to
help develop these. It would be cool if we
could develop stable strains of all of them!

I am looking for some folk to grow out some
of the Trippaul Threat v2 F2 seeds. As you can
see above, there are five different colors in this
season grow out of the F2 seeds.

I simply don't have the space to try to stabilize
all these varieties, so am looking for some help

I would like some folk to select a color and grow
out 4 plants and see what develops. There will be
more variation since these seeds will be producing
the F3 plants.

I know that is asking a lot considering that many
of you have more seeds than you know what to
do with and this would be a load on your grow
space, etc.

Can't promise anything but the 'fame and fortune'
that may come your way. I will send seeds and some
dried pods in time for the 2021 seasonto those who
sign on.

Please give it some thought and let me know if you
would like to participate and post some of your
results in this thread.

Thanks for considering this.
