Sorry I need to vent a lil.......

as many of you know I got laid off not that long ago. I have been collecting unemployment since then. Now this week I get a notice that Ohio Unemployment OVERPAID me!! So I argue about it. Turns out the week after I got laid off my boss called and had me work 2 days and BANK THE HOURS.....well the payroll people turned it in to unemployment office and did not pay me for it....sooooooooooo Unemployment says they overpaid me...I say OK...Let me pay it back in a couple payments...YA RIGHT!!!!! THEM SOB's SAID NO!!!!!!!! Now here we are with my friggin rent due, a court payment due (don't ask) and the need for Christmas Money and them SOB's stop my unemployment!!! since there is a break in payments, Now I have to serve another waiting week so now instead of 1 week with no money, It's 2 friggin weeks!!! DAMN I hate this shit!!! Man these assholes can screww up eveything.....It's not like they pay me a shitload or anything...I get $370 a week and that ain't squat considering I have a family of 5.......With the economy so screwed up I can't even find anyone to work me (under the table) for a lil extra money.......I've been putting in applications and sent my resume outt to several different places (cuz I really don't want to drive truck anymore) and I have not had any response yet.....






OK I feel better now....Just had to bitch a lil bit....my wife got tired of hearing me...LOL.....

Ohio unemployment and Job & Family Services people are horrible to work with. Years ago (maybe 17 years ago), I was in a pickle and went to them looking for some assistance, mainly just some food. I was truthful about everything and they said that I made 25 cents more a month than what was allowed, so they turned me away.
 
It's a real bugger mate and I feel for you and yours. It's all made even worse because we are coming into the "merry" season!!!

Many are starting to find out...the Gov. messes up pretty much everything they touch..ie..They have done bankrupted Social Security,Medicare,Medicaid,The post office,etc,etc..

I'd also note that many people have been paying into the system which sticks it up their butt..

They take your money and decide how much to give back to you..
Great little ponzi scheme they have going...

But in the end remember the Nanny state knows what's best for you and your money

I dealt with the same thing...but it's far too long a story to describe. Let's just say...

That really sucks. Dyce! I've been unemployed since October of 2008! I accidently checked a wrong box on my claim a while back. The check that we rely on never showed up. I kept calling the number they say to call, but it was a recording with no info then it would hang up on you! I finally tried emailing and got a call back. All I said was "sorry, I checked the wrong box". Then I had to wait another 2 freaking weeks for my check!!!!! The whole unemployment system is a mess right now. I guess they're just over loaded with work.

Why the hell do social service workers all seem completely uninterested in helping PEOPLE??

Or did the definition of "social service" change while I was on Pluto?
 
i know how it is too, i got paid off in november & there's nil out there here too.the social don't care if you work or not, just check you're filling the forms ok & bye bye till next visit.there are so many folk looking for work the clerks don't have time for a one-to-one or to show any real interest.government have screwed with their working practices too, so they're all as pi**ed off as the unemployed are....only they're the ones with the jobs...
 
Have you ever been to the DMV or the county court clerk's office??

It's not just the unemployment office, my friends.....NONE of them care what you need.

So sorry to hear about the unemployment mess. I feel for all of you, am on ssi but at least they don't pull the same stuff as you face. Being unemployed is depressing enough but to have someone try to rationalize away the problems you have has to be infuriating. Talk about man's inhumanity to man. It says a lot about the climate of our country. Whatever happened to people who became social workers, etc to help others?

I know how it feels. I am laid off for almost 1 year and 9 months. Collecting dole money ever since. Pittance but sees me thro as I live with my son's family.

But it really sucks man.

well wish me luck I have to go to the Federal Court down in Akron today to deal with that mess.........gggrrrrrrrrrrrr....when it rains it friggin pours!!!!!!!!!
 
Good luck Dyce, I was unemployed mar 04 until sept 05, except for a few months washing dishes and substitute teaching in feb - may 05. I was in FL until early summer when my father became ill so I moved back to OH (45 minutes outside pittsburgh) and I do have part tiem work. When I was in FL, I was not paid great so I looked everywhere for a part time job. NOTHING! No taco bell, McDs, burger king etc was hiring. This economy sucks.
