Unknown Aji - Peru (C. Baccatum)

It took me 8 days in a brown paper bag to ripen this pod, but it's beautiful! My souce said maybe Aji Amarillo, but I'm not 100% sure. It was smuggled in from Peru a while back. A very nice sized, thick walled pod!

It was the only pod on the plant I got to ripen.

It certainly does look like a Aji Amarillo, But i'm only going off the pictures i've seen!!

I know AJ has grown the Aji Amarillo this year so he should be able to compare a bit better....

Aji Amarillio it is but the problem a lot of Peruvian variety's are
called amarillo(yellow) the aji peru is a commercial pepper and went on sale earlier in the year but looks very similar indeed :cool:

Chris...I'm afraid I am of no help since I am new to the Aji's...but here is a couple of pics of my Aji Amarillos....don't know whether they are going to get ripe before first frost or not...

Ours are different AJ. My Aji is much thicker looking. There are endless unknown types so it's anyone's guess.
