I just ate a pepper that is still burning my mouth 24 hours later. My throat hurts and my spit is like fire..still...the next day!! How do I go about finding out what this peper is? I of course googled it...are there pepper experts out there?.

Secondly, there are thousands upon thousands of peppers out there... A little more guidance would be good what color? aprox size? a description of the shape, A picture would be ideal.
thirdly, there is no pepper that burns for 24 hours that I am aware of. Are you sure it was a pepper, and not something else?
Do you eat a lot of hot peppers normally? or was this a deviation from the norm? Ghost peppers have a half hour or so burn... Though my roommate said he had a Jalapeno once that lit him up for three days (result not typical).
Perhaps you are really sensitive (like my roommate) to peppers?
Welcome Adam. While this is not really a welcome post nor a pepper I.D. posts I am going to leave it here just in case he actually decides to come back. If you do come back tell us a bit about yourself and then take and post a picture of what you ate or post up over in the I.D. forum ( http://thehotpepper.com/forum/120-pepper-id/ ) a description of the pod and we may be able to help you out.
at least you can take a pic of it. My wife used my hot pepper powder in the family chili and all I wrote on it was TS powder. From the taste I'm thinking Trinidad scorpion. Her mouth was on fire for hours.
