vincent's 2013 season ***10/22/13 SUPER HUGE MEGA 40ish PICTURE UPDATE***

Well well well. Here we are again folks. Spent the last couple days getting everything all set up how i would like it to be (heat mat temps, lights hanging in right position, and the never ending task of finalizing a grow list. But i think ive done it...lol. i will be using a hydrofarm 4ft, 6 bulb, T5 fixture along with a heat mat set to88 F. I did not soak seeds overnight as i did last season so ill see if it makes a difference. Im putting litt. Ms. Oriah down for a nap at the moment but will post the final grow list here shortly

Pics to follow my friends.

Those are some sick plants and pods ya got there Vincent!  There are WAAAAAAAY too many to comment on them all, but I will tell you that you got an awesome variety of supers there and you are really gonna be in the hurt locker once they all start to ripen up and you begin solid harvests!
Howdy there Matt, yea i do have some wicked / mean looking pods going on. That's only like 16 or 17 of my 60ish plants lol.
Thanks for the kind words. I tried to pick a nice variety and i guess I did an ok job. Yea I'm sure my mouth will not be happy with me at all here in a couple of weeks.

Beginner's luck I tell ya.

Howdy cousin... you've been busy, and it looks like you're just about ready to open up a can of Whoopazz! What are your thoughts on applying nutes close to harvest time, or is the tea you brewed for younger plants?

Hey there rick, I give the tea to all of my plants even if they're about to be harvested. I haven't noticed any ill effects. As far as other nutes, I still give em the cal-mag and fish and seaweed and i got some pelleted bat guano that I'll put in jugs of water for a few hours and let it dissolve and I'll water them with that as well.

Also yea it doesn't look like I'm far off from a big ol whoopass can lol.

Looking awesome, Vincent.  You've got it all going on there.  Keep it up.  The Serpent will ripen soon.  Be scared.  ;)
Thanks Brent, oh this won't be my first go round with the Serpent. I tasted one before SS had even named them. I don't know if he remembers my reaction but SS laughed at me when he made me do it last year.

There hasn't been any topsoil or anything added on top of it because it's fairly late in the season but plan to do that over the fall. All I did was dig the hole and fill with compost, worm casting, and other goodies and fill around with soil conditioner mixed with native soil and then mulched. It's far from perfect butit was rushed so I ddunno, hopefully it'll still grow productive plants.

I don't see why you would have any problems unless the native soil is terrible. It looks like a great plot, and I am sure Imif you any everything like you did the first few, you will be sitting pretty soon enough. If you out the work in uring the off season, it will pay dividends come future seasons!

Your garden plot looks great!  From what little I know, it seems like what you did to locally amend the soil around each plant should work great.  I spy a ripe Aji Pineapple.  Love those pods.

Tipsy eh? But yes I plan on getting a few yards of horse poo compost brought in a month or two after the season ends and work it in real well. My native soil isn't terrible but there's a good amount of small rocks, just glad there wasn't much clay.

I hope it was enough to suffice for the rest of this season. Thanks though, yea i was super happy to finally have an actual in ground garden plot. I will still grow a few in containers next year, and keep what is already in containers this year in them, but the majority will go in ground after a short stay in one gallons next year.

And yes there is a 90% ripe Aji Pineapple on there. I'm gonna give it another few days and then go pluck it.

The new garden plot looks outstanding cuz! Peppers love sandy loam, so I think they'll do well for you there. Cheers!

Thank you for the compliments guys.

I had me my first real harvest of the season. Still nowhere near what it will be, but I'll take it for now.

Supposedly yellow Scotch Bonnet. Seeds were from Pepperlover but I'm guessing that there was a seed mix up. Oh well

Thanks Rick, so far the plants that have made the journey to the in ground plot haven't complained so I hope they'll do well

Great pods!  Was yellow douglah supposed to be yellow or was that an accident?  Looks like a Yellow 7 Pot... is it as hot?

Yellow Douglah is supposed to be yellow. Was grown by Billy Boy himself in Australia. I spoke with him at length about these and he strongly believes that it is a natural mutation and not a cross. He was growing his red Douglah in isolation and saved seeds from one of those pods, planted those seeds next year and out popped yellow douglah's.

Those that are in the pictures are not the typical shape, they were the first couple that ripened up and are not how they normally look. As for heat they are well above and beyond a regular yellow 7,believe me.
