water Watering Protocol for High Heat

The southern end of Minnesota has had a few gully washers lately which is a mixed blessing, floods for many but also some much needed moisture for us. The water rationing is already in place, odd numbers may water on odd days. Last year all of the garden was in earthtubs, the homemade ones. That was great with the drought. This year part is in the tubs and part in the ground so we'll see how it goes. My outlook is the lawn can take care of itself, I water the garden. Priorities!!!

You should try living in Australia. We have been on water restrictions for years in Victoria, and at present, we can water twice a week, during 6 am - 8 am only, anything outside of the days and/or times can result in your water being reduced to a trickle by the authorities.

I don't collect enough rain water (3-55 gallon drums) to water all my plants with so I use it when I feed them...I would love to use rain water on all my plants...

Man I feel spoiled with the water. I live next to 4 lakes that are several hundred miles long full of freshwater and the deepest one is over 1,000 ft deep!!! Besides that though. I've always watered my plants every other day if it hasn't been raining. If it rains I'll wait even longer. My mother-in-law grows a bunch of peppers and she's never had a problem with them being in the sun for the full day either. They are on the south side of the house with no shade trees.
