Hi there, I'm new here and quite fortunate to have found this forum! I've always been a chile head for quite sometime, but only recently I decided to take the next step and begin the ultimate chile head passion - GROWING! For the past few months, I've been growing some chile plants in my backyard, with mediocre success. Maybe growing outdoors in Canada sucks, but the summer was pretty hot with plenty of rain.... so I guess it was more of a pest problem. One of my Habanero plants was massacred by a snail (I found the bastard next to the plant the following morning), it was a horrible experience for me.
Well, it seems I've had great success with some unnamed Thai pepper plants, they produced a lot! My main goal however, is to grow a Caribbean Red Habanero indoors. I originally bought it as a baby plant, it was freakin' TINY... and now it's grown to about 3 inches tall, and is quite leafy, but hasn't flowered yet. Since we're already deep into Fall over here, I am desperately looking for some sort of fluorescent light setup for my plant, something that will keep it alive in the unnatural environment of my human home. For now, I'm gonna have to bring my plant indoors every night, until I can find a fluorescent light setup that doesn't require hard-wiring.
Some extra lil' bit of info, if anyone cares..
- I make my own hot sauce every once in a while, I always buy at least 20 Habs or Bonnets at the supermarket to guarantee extreme potency
- I'm renown in the gaming world as a Killer Instinct expert, I've been playing it online for several years and have built quite a rep with it. Aren't I a nerd?
- I'm a wannabe liquor/spirit connoisseur, and am hoping to get a bartending license someday
- I am obsessed with killer diseases (Ebola, Smallpox, Plague, etc), and have been reading about them since I was 8
- Tornadoes scare the living daylights out of me
