favorite What's your favorite Louisiana-Style hot sauce?

Pretty sure I have had Crystal (at the last place I ate with a slamming screen door) BUT it's been awhile. Just got a bottle and WOW yeah, this one is the one for me. Y'all are right!
Louisiana for sure! I grew up on that hot sauce
I need to try Crystal apparently. I’d take Louisiana over Tobasco any day though!
Crystal is excellent. A requirement for the best beans and rice loaded up with sliced Conecuh sausage. Plus it's dirt cheap. Louisiana is good too. Tabasco is not fit for human consumption FFS.
I'm on my 2nd bottle of Crystal since the rec here.
Tabasco has been growing on me lately. Louisiana is starting to taste a bit salty for whatever reason. Maybe I'll give crystal another go.
Try Crystal extra hot. Normal crystal doesn't have enough sting.
It’s official, Crystal is by and far my new favorite of this style; it miles above the others in depth of flavor and overall enjoyability for me.
Of the recommendations here I vote Crystal, Louisiana, Tabasco in that order.

Anybody who wants to make anything hotter without changing the taste... at all, ring up @salsalady and get yourself some Pure Evil. Depending on the octane level you choose, a drop could make a bottle of Crystal quite uncomfortable to use.
A few drops of the lowest power 1.5 million SHU will start making a bottle of Crystal a superhot and just about right for the hardcore among us.
Agree. The Extra Hot = Aged red cayenne peppers, distilled vinegar, water, salt, natural flavorings, and xanthan gum.
I imagine the "natural flavorings" is chili oleoresin (extract). Two tell-tale signs; 1) No other ingredients listed make it hotter and 2) Xanthan gum is needed to emulsify since it's oil. "Flavorings" (plural) may also suggest some kind of pepper flavor.
Seems legit though. I'd try it.

All you have to do is try one drop at a time. It's tame until you hit your own tolerance believe it or not. I think I did about 5 in a soup.
Wouldn't that give it the nasty extract taste? I've seen it in the stores but never bothered with it. I have capsaicin and two levels of Pure Evil
At the level it would be used, no. Extract is actually commonplace in consumer goods that are spicy and labeled as natural flavor or sometimes it is labeled as capsicum/chili/pepper oleoresin. If you are eating a spicy chip and there are no peppers listed and it says natural flavor, that's extract.
Oh yeah it can be nasty, but so is swigging lemon extract or vanilla extract lol. When used correctly it works as you would expect.
