I don't do black Friday usually, but my local garden centre had 40% off nearly everything so took advantage and picked up a lime and a fig tree as we'd been talki nf about getting fruit trees a lot recently anyway. That was the extent of our shopping. Can find better deals on other stuff throughout the year with much less craziness.

Cyber Monday is heaps better. Stay home and score deals stores or manufacturers unleash once a year.
The trick to Black Friday is going to the stores in the shitty part of town. There's nobody there! I showed up a half hour before the doors opened, and there was maybe 30 people in line in front of me. The store opened, I calmly walked straight to the few items I wanted, grabbed them, and went to one of about 10 cashiers that were standing there doing nothing. That's it. Done.
I talked to a friend that went to the same big box store, but 15 miles out in the more upscale 'burbs. He stood in line for an hour and a half before the store opened, said it was a complete shit show, and missed out on the item he really wanted (same gun safe I bought). He also said the check-out lines were ridiculous. That's the kind of Black Friday horror stories I have always heard, but my experience was quite painless.
