I prefer to use the deli 8oz plastic containers method myself. It helps me to monitor even the slightest of change. I get very jumpy and hate wondering what's going on in the soil. Now when my seedlings hit the trays I know where they stand!!

Very thrifty.
Ice-cube trays are just like plastic cells without the drainage holes, although plastic cells fit better in a standard tray and are cheaper

good idea ,I have used old trays and you can use old egg cartons but I do like the starter systems!

There s absolutley nothing wrong with seed starting trays, the thing is I have to buy them on the web, and yes, they are whey cheaper.

I actually drilled some 1/4 inch holes on each square, Lol and yes the standard tray are cheaper.
