Happy New Year, 2021!

Their size makes them tempting if they otherwise retain glabriusculum characteristics… but that’s the question. I can’t remember if you’ve said whether the pods are still deciduous (release easily from calyx)? Is the flavor noteworthy?

I am lousy on faste judging, but they are definitely feisty.
The pods range in ease of detachment, but most come
off with a tilt of the berry with respect to the stem.

From the annuum v Glabriusculum world -
Here are some of the latest round of the
‘Uvalde’ purple. This is the fourth pull, I
believe. A few Diente de Perro, @ahayastani,
and some Chiltepín Rojo, CPI NMSU, along
for the ride. Diente de Perro is actually a frutescens,
I believe.

On the wilder side, some c. eximium and c. cardenasii,
Some orange Capucinno Chiltepin at the bottom.

On the other end of the spectrum, this guy just sprouted for me yesterday, which I believe is from Crafty's original uvalde seeds - thanks once again, CF! The uvald-ain't hybrid from this summer will likely get overwintered as it was a productive plant with good pods, but I'm happy to have this guy growing now. It's on the late end of the indoor grow, but will likely stay indoors at least through the first flush of pods.

Initial trimming on the Pequin 'Uvalde' purple,
getting ready for overwintering, hopefully.
It has fared well in the cold and wet weather,
still flowering and ripening berries right up to
today. Foliage looking very healthy despite the
weather.

Toughing it out under the deck canopy in the
cold late Fall weather, c. cardenasii, c. eximium,
c. tovari. There are a couple of red berries on the
Tovari.

Also two c. flexuosum just out of the above
picture, but there is one new berry
Not much left after drying the other two:rofl:

Picked a surprising number of cold berries
off the eximium and cardenasii yesterday.
