Size of the Seed Train. From another angle.
Not sure if those are going to go through. Trying to use dropbox to host them.
Also I wasn't able to get the extra seed baggies in there. You'll see what I mean. Its stuffed to the gills. The cash made it in though :).
I'm definitely down for the next round.
If I don't already have you marked down, I will do so. And yes, jsschrstrcks.

Ok everybody!!! Thank you for your patience!! Th suitcase will be headed to CAPCOM in the morning.

Thank you for allowing me to be part of this train!!!

Getting to the final stretch of this round. Tentatively we have 8 for the next round commiting. Anyone interested that meets and agrees to the rules on page one (1) sign up here. Still time to get some really great seeds for this year's grow.

LAST CALL!
The football is on its way back. When It arrives I will take my turn going through it as I passed when it came in the middle of the round so I could get it closer to on schedule as possible again. I will at that time, also begin removing illegible seed packs or packs that do not meet the posted requirements. Add any seed packs I have and then assess whether we need to break it into the two trains on one track I spoke about. In the event I cannot reduce the size of the train significantly we are faced with the MFRB box or 2 MFRBE. Cost of shipping is the same but time to process the seed packs is essentially doubled as you have 3 days for half the seeds twice. Vs, 3 days for all the seeds at once.

Hey guys, I pulled a baggie from the train marked "Chili eiccaute" but I can't find anything out by googling. Any ideas? it was loose.

No idea. But that is one of the biggest problems associated with the train an why there is specific guild lines on labeling of seed packs. Your only recourse unless someone chimes in with a ID confirmation is to grow them out, determine if it is something you want to continue growing and post pics of the resulting plant, flowers and fruit. A positive ID will probably result from that.

Round #1 is officially over. seed train has arrived. The next round appears to be short and sweet. I am going to condense the pack by removing unidentifiable and improperly marked bags Check for anything that sounds interesting to grow this year and ready the pack for outbound.

As of right now, I have 8 participants.

I need to know who wants a sample of Guardian. Samples will be marked with intended recipients name. Also re verify interest in participation now. If anyone has had a change of heart I would like to know before the train is sent out. And as always,    READ THE RULES! DO IT NOW!     Any questions, ask now

Wild seed train rules and SOP  READ THE RULES!!!

1) FOLLOW THE RULES! Failure to follow the rules will lead to at the very least, removal of seed from the train and to the extreme of being banned from all future seed trains! I am also in constant contact with the operators of the other trains regarding such issues.

2)  Open only to contiguous US members.

3)  You MUST be an active THP member for 6 months or longer and have at least 300 posts.

3)  Quid pro quo. Take a seed, leave a seed. Or more if you can. and dont be a BOGART!
This train grows with each round and provides its riders with a variety of pepper seed not available anywhere else.
Generosity is rewarded with generosity and variety. It is not a charity seed bank. If you only have a couple of varieties to contribute then post on the forum for seeds you want. There are very generous members here that will, if asked send you seed. A seed train is NOT the place for a newbie to obtain hundreds of varieties of pepper for few varieties everyone already has.

4)  Affix an adhesive label to the seed packet with at the very least variety and THP user name. Do not use any form of pen, marker or other form of writing instrument directly on the plastic bag. All individual seed packets should be placed into a large zip lock bag with THP user name.  If you remove the final content of any of the varieties from its packet, return the empty seed packet to the large zip lock bag so that it may be refilled by the originator for the next round. If you remove a seed packet from a contributors Ziploc bag, return it to the same bag. Not someone elses. Only the person providing the seed should remove the individual empty seed packets.

5)  Prior to re-shipping the packet, establish contact with the next person on the list and confirm they know the seed packet shipment is imminent. They should already be aware of where the train is and expecting it. You should have contacted this person at the onset of the train for their shipping address so when you are ready to ship there isn't any last minute chaos.
Spend no more than 12 hours attempting this contact. If unsuccessful after that time, Contact me and I will provide reroute instructions.
Turn the packet around in 3 days. And place back into service with a USPS tracking number. The default standard shipping container has been the 9.5" x 12.5" Priority mail flat rate envelope. These are free but must be ordered online from USPS. Now is a good time to do so as everyone should be shipping in a new envelope each time the seeds are shipped.

Go to https://www.usps.com/ and set up an acct. from there, go here.https://store.usps.c...=30&q_pageNum=2

Priority Mail Padded Flat Rate Envelope
SKU: EP14PE-XV   9-1/2" x 12-1/2"Pack of 15 Envelopes
Availability: Ships in 3-5 Business Days

6)  Once the box has left your possession, post here with the tracking number.

7)  If you are interested in participating and meet the requirements, Post to this thread (I'm in).
The train will be full at 15 riders. New riders will be added as first come first serve. But may be modified to expedite and make the train more efficient.
I know $hit happens and intent and execution are two different things. If you find at any time you cannot continue to participate, contact me at once and I will make the necessary changes.
Providing of course, you contact me before the packet ships to you.

8) No rigid containers containing powders, sauces or seed. The only containers allowed on the train are plastic bags.

9) All approved riders should upon notice of participation send me your shipping info. I will be structuring the train route to be the most efficient and productive to its riders if that is at all possible. And I am looking into having the approved shipping envelopes shipped to each rider prior to the departure of the train.

10) Wild seed. There will be an additional wild car added for those wishing to participate in wild seed. this car will be protected and only those participating will have access. still working on details.

11) It is assumed that when you sign on to participate in the seed train, that you are interested in doing so. That being the case, it is up to you to be proactive and ready to receive the seed packet. Very little, I repeat, very little  time will be spent attempting to contact participants whose inbox is full and who have not logged on in weeks. I will attempt to make this years train more efficient and expedient as well as beneficial.
I will also put these little reminders in throughout the thread as it never fails, someone will not READ THE RULES.

A running and up-datable list will be placed at the bottom of this page and it will contain all of the riders of the current round. It will however, not be the order the train will run. I will make every possible effort to place riders in the position of the choosing but cannot guarantee it.

As the train grows there are bound to be duplicate seed types. When I get the train at the mid point, I will NOT combine any duplicate seeds into one envelope. No one else should either.
Participation requirements. The established requirements to participate are the absolute minimum I feel should be in place (6 months and 300 posts). There is a lot of members hard work in one packet of seeds and in most cases no one knows anyone on the forum much more than a user name. Longevity and character on the forum are the best clues about the perspective rider (but I have found this to not be conclusive). It is my responsibility to all riders to vet all riders.
The train won’t leave till I am confident that everyone knows where the train is coming from, who it is going to and when. I will provide an actual train schedule prior to departure.

Any questions or concerns post here or PM me and I will answer or resolve them.
I reserve the right to deny or remove riders for any reason that I feel is a detriment to the success of the train.

All revisions to the SOP will be followed up in RED. Refer back to this page for revisions and updates.

All,

I'm not interested in riding again, but do have a lot more late season OP Baccatum seeds to share.
If anyone is interested, I'll send a 'recharge' package to Capcom or an early rider so that they can add it to the train.

Bishop's Hat
Inca Red Drop
Brazilian Starfish
Cap 267
Aji Angelo
Aji Amarillo

Cap, if you have time, can you check my envelope and see how many of these are left.

Will do, I will PM you the findings when I finally get to that beast.

I am sorry, there is a lot of confusion based on my posting the participants a few posts back. That is not the order. It will probably go more like this if no one else is added.
