Got my seaweed today, 140 litres of it. It brang back some nice memories collecting it of my grandfather, i could imagine how chuffed he would be with me doing what he taught me. Total cost, one drive to the lake and an afternoon with people i love. Great stuff.

Any particular type Nova?? Do you flush it well?? How long does the process take before its ready to use?? Sorry full of questions tonight

Lake seaweed lol I really do not know what it is called scientifically. I dumped 40 litres of it directly into the dirt patch and turned it in. The rest i flushed with the garden hose for about five minutes just to get rid off excess salt. It will be added to the dirt in a couple of days after it dries out a bit. I reckon it will take a couple of months to get really started decomposing but there are heaps of earth worms in there so it could be a bit quicker, makes the soils drainage a lot better straight away and with my clay soil this is great.

After all this is nice and rich i plan on mixing it half half with organic mix from a soil supplier, it should work a treat.

Cool ... have you tried gypsum in your soil to help create airation/drainage and stop clogging. It is organic and works incredibly well

Just stumbled across this and I wondered if it could be modified/used as a germination chamber. It seems like an ideal all in one solution with thermostat and dial up setting of temp and thermometer. Pretty random but it could work??

Possible Germination chamber??

Even has a water chamber for humidity and fan for even temps!! Could be the next big thing in pepper germination

I will look into that cheers brother! I also want to get some more seaweed and a big ass drum to make seaweed emulsuion. Hmm have ta make a big stirrer chopper fingy...

Incubator looks good, reliable one would think. What about humidity does it adjust that? Would be sweet if it did.

Edit:?I WANT ONE!

Would have been tempted if I had seen it earlier, I can tell you that much.
When you think about it if you take the price for a thermostat, thermometer, and humidity dome and heat pad and add them altogether it could actually be a pretty reasonable all in 1 solution.

Hey peeps and peepetts, check out this tomato plant. It had pink foliage when looked upon in various angles and when you put your finger behid a leaf to block the light from the back side. It's really hairy and does not seem to mind that it is winter. Grown under a fluro and just transplanted to an air pot and put into my mini greenhouse. The texta on the sappy bag has nearly worn off but it's name is something like Teto_s de velus ( _ is a missing letter).

:D

Supposed to be real cold here tomorrow morning. 2-4 celcius. Poor wittle plants, lucky they will be tucked safely away behind a very thin sheet of plastic.

Edit: Just a little pic update of the other babies.

looking good nova ... you can really see the difference that some supplementary lighting has on the internode length and rate of growth. Compared with my only window sill/sun light raised little baby's so far.

Crazy looking tomato plant alright ... the purplish hues are usually caused by cold conditions on tomato plants (and other types of plants as well  ) ...

maybe the hairyness is to try to counteract that as well

Three words - Nova, righteous, beer!

EDIT:
Forgot to mention ya people in ozland got a wussy winter! but that's just cause it's scared of all ya non-wussy, hairy, crocodile wrestling, webcam posing men!

Cheers! beer!

 Was not a webcam though, i took that piccy with my cell phone. Easiest way for me as can upload directly from phone to bucket. :D
