Wrightdaddy's 2012 grow log

I've been reading everyones grow log figured i should start my own. I have already started a few different kinds starting the others tomorrow. I soak my seeds over night in plain water then i plant them in 4in pots 4 kinds per pot 2 seeds each then I transplant them into there own 4in pot when they show second set of true leaves. For lighting i use a double four foot light fixture with 2 daylight bulbs 80 watts. at about 6in they get transplanted into a one gallon pot then they get put under two four foot light strips with three daylight bulbs and one grow bulb. they reside there till they go outside i know its a little low on lighting but its just to get a head start before they go outside once out side they go into 3 or 5 gall on pots depending on size of plant. for soil i mix roughly 1/2 compost 1/4 peat 1/8 perilite 1/8 vermiculite. ill post pics later just have a couple sprouts now.

well things are heating up over here now 100+ today its going to be 109 and 112 tomorrow OUCH. having to water every other day but im still setting pods and everything is looking good. thank you all for the kind comments and thanks for stopping by and checking out my glog. heres some more pics enjoy. happy growing to all.

Oh man, I've got 6 bishop's crowns in the ground and I'm excited for them. Great pic, gives me a glimpse of what I'm looking forward to!

i love the bishop crown its my tallest plant so far its in a five gallon pot and it comes up past my elbow. it probably has 10 pods it so far and lots of flowers. that pod in the picture is nearing golf ball size.

You said you have your plants under a mesquite tree? About how much sun are they getting and when?

They get what ever light trickles through the tree from sun up until around 2-3 pm which isn't a whole lot. Then they get direct sun for about 4-5 hours which rite now is a little intense with the afternoon heat. I'm going to move them to the east side of the tree to switch that up so they they will get early morning and afternoon sun and shade in the late afternoon. That's the beauty of pots being able to move them.
