i got dem lazer beams yo. only really uneven parts of the wall are where the durock runs over the structural ties that connect the the joists to the top plate. 
 
in hindsight i should have notched out the lumber like an 1/8". i was assuming it would not telegraph through very much, but cement boards are way different than drywall. go figure.
 
in these areas where there is this 1/8" hump, cant i just build up thinset on each side, with the tile laying almost ontop of the crest/crown?
 
oh and hey, in trying to figure out how to round down the edges of marble threshold material for a window sill kind of like this.

im ordering this polishing kit, but its for cut edges, not for agressive material removal. i was planning on buying a wheel for my bench grinder.... but then i remembered these things we used in high school to knock down cutting slag from OA cutting torches or the ocassional plasma cut.

Read in the news about a slob who is suing Golden Corral for $2 million because they kicked him out after 7 hours and eating an estimated 50-70 pounds of food. Golden Corral already refunded his money and offered him a generous settlement out of court, which he refused in hopes of the $2 million in court.

OK, so technically they do offer an all you can eat buffet, but seriously, I have to back Golden Corral on this. If I were the judge, I would laugh at this slob and dismiss the case. All he did was abuse the generous AYCE policy. He got his money's worth and then some.

On a lighter note, he did exactly what all of us on a mission at the buffet strive to do. Get kicked out or closing it down for eating too much.

Getting hospital bills (and collection notices) that aren't mine! Those here that know me know that I moved to Wyoming in January 2015 after my dad died. Before that had I lived in Ohio since 2010. For the past few years I have been receiving emergency room bills for a hospital in Wyoming (not even the part I live in now or near family!) for services supposedly rendered in June of 2012. When I first started getting these bills in 2013 I explained that I lived in Ohio and the only time I had even left the state since I moved there 3 years prior was to go to neighboring Pennsylvania. First off, how (or why) would I go to a podunk clinic in bumfrick Wyoming when I was 2,000 miles away in Ohio with a hospital on every street corner? Second, how in the hell can I prove I was in Ohio on a specific date that took place 4 years ago?! Who the hell keeps records of exactly where they are at any given moment? This was 4 years ago! This isn't the first time I have received hospital bills that weren't mine and every time their response is the same. "We have your info, so it must have been you and your bill is valid." Then of course they ask the stupidest question which is, "Do you not remember visiting so and so hospital on this date?". Don't you think I would remember traveling 2,000 miles across the country to go to a freakin' hospital?! I am already paying an ambulance chaser attorney monthly for bills that aren't mine (or they would garnish my wages) since I couldn't prove I never went and all that mattered to the courts was them saying I owed them money. So my word was worthless, but theirs wasn't.
 
^^^^^^^ I say we track um down, pin um down, and pour some of your hot sauce in there eyes. Shit it will burn clear through to the back of their head, through the table, through the floor, through the center of the earth, and surely burn the foot of some dude in china.

^^^Good news is my credit is already screwed and I was built to hold out. They aren't getting a dime, even if it is only $600. You know my financial status, so anything I need will be paid for in cash.
