I agree with you, also I've seen the film first then read the book and it's never the same. The one film that I really think didn't let the book down was The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. I saw The Chronicles of Narnia too but I preferred the original.pepperfever said:

Damn - a fave movie is hard to pick.
mostly i like eclectic doccos.
but if i'm going for escapism its hard to avoid a bit of 007
for a thriller i like a John LeCarre...(still way better to read the books though)
for cartoon/animation

I'm sorry the entire star wars saga? The new ones made me sick. From the annoyingly unloveable new characters, to the unrealistic and unbelieveable stunts that would heve never made their way into the first ones, to the unbelieveably bad CGI....which part was your favorite?

Star Wars...I dunno I think those new episodes...
they really could have fit a bit more meaningless emotional drama into it, i mean they had the wooden characters all set up & more than enough pathetic, two-toned dialogue. The script worked well in the first season of General Hospital & has given Days of our lives plenty of good years. They could have milked it for way more emotion.
