My wife works in IT, and said the new iOS7 looks just like a copy of Windows 8 at the interface level at least. Yet as Phil said, they'll still "rage against the machine", while paying 4x as much as a similar performing device. Marketing is everything.

This is not a new sales tactic. Apple does this to stir up buzz. they KNOW this world is full of sheep. If three people stood out in front of 7-11 and a fourth person asked "what's the deal?" ... "Oh, we are in line for the new Blueberry flavored slurpee".... there would be 5000 people in front of that 7-11 in no time. Sheep.

Seriously. I won't demonize a company for making money. It's not like they take it out of wallets while we're sleeping. They offer goods and services that we want as consumers. Any hot sauce dealer wishes to have the same success by offering a quality product. It's not exploitation.... it's consumerism. If you can make money by peddling your wares, then more power to you!

You are right, and it is most definitely not JUST Apple users, they are just some of the easiest to pick on.  They take it so seriously and I was trying to play a parody on the typical Apple fanboism.  Like the occupy people who were hardcore against big business yet demanded wifi hotspots so they could use Twitter and Instagram from thein iDevices.
