    Black dots around leaf edges?

Thanks for the replies! Although I made this post in October, I think I should update you: As I had no idea what to do, I just removed all the affected leaves, which was about 50% of them. Then I moved it to a bigger pot and it took off real quick! It was doing well until a couple of weeks ago...

    Black dots around leaf edges?

Hello guys ! I've done a bit of forum searching for something similar but haven't found anything, so your help would be really appreciated! This is an overwintered Trinidad Scorpion; it didn't give me any fruit the first year since it was too small. It has grown a bit now and already produced...

Persistence and success story! [ plus some help needed :) ]

Thanks for the reply! I watered them right before taking the pictures ;). I had already overwatered some of the small plants, and now I am quite careful not to overdo it. I always wait till the top is dry, and check though the bottom holes to see if it's not logged. You may have a point about...

Persistence and success story! [ plus some help needed :) ]

Hello fellows. First of all this is probably not considered a succesful pepper story by many of you. I consider it a success because I was so close to giving up, so many times, that having this results seems like a lot already. Last October I asked for some help here with my young pepper...

    how to pollinate inside?

Hello! You can simply rub your finger inside the flowers, one by one, so the pollen gets tranfered between them. Be careful and don't press too much!

seeds Experimenting with cheap / free germinating and indoor grow methods for seedlings

I had great results with those deli cups, but instead of coffee filters I used some cotton (about half an inch) covered with paper towel. It can go for days without drying! Maybe you could experiment with it too.

Help needed - Stalled young plants

Looking at your picture, it's clear that mine were not root-bound! Maybe re-potting was an exaggeration, although I think it can do no harm. Oops! Already did... I guess I'll soon find out if it was indeed too much. I used 4-2-2 at 10%, plus Ascophyllum nodosum extract at 10%, making a 20%...

Help needed - Stalled young plants

Bought some small pots, new soil and some nutes. I transplanted five of them too see if they like more root space, gave them a very diluted dose of nutrients (around 1/5 normal dilution) and left them outside -it's overcast but not cold. I will try with 15 plants outside, besides some big bushes...

Help needed - Stalled young plants

Thanks everyone for your replies! The soil is indeed a bit chunky, and it has got no nutrients added. If I transplant them to better soil, is it better to remove the old soil, or just put the whole block of soil/roots in a new pot?

Help needed - Stalled young plants

Thanks Arijer! To answer the questions: Night temperatures are not too cold, they're in my room. The cups have holes and water drainage is fine (the bottom is not logged as far as I know). I've only gave them Epsom Salt, also tried a tiny bit of coffee grounds over the soil in plant #1. I...

Help needed - Stalled young plants

I've been trying to grow some peppers, but for some reason they all get to a point where they almost stop growing. Some of them have yellowed a bit, others haven't. Mind I live in Chile so it's spring and the outside temperatures are around 25°C/77°F during the day. I've chosen 4 plants amongst...

    Purple Thai Dragon

Well it may be Purple Tiger, considering the variegated leaves. I guess I'll just have to wait, if it is indeed a purple Thai Dragon the pepper should be long and thin --the Purple Tiger is short. Thank you for the responses!

chinense Opinion? -> Aji Habanero, Habanero De Arbol, Aji Crystal

I've never grown them (first time growing peppers this year), but Aji Cristal is almost the only pepper they sell here (and it's everywhere!). It is indeed very tasty and quite mild. Make sure you try them when still green!

    Purple Thai Dragon

I bought some seeds from a supplier here in Chile (the country, not a pepper ) . One of them was labeled "Purple Thai Dragon", which I though was a fairly common variety. However, googling that name gave me almost no useful results, and the forum search returned nothing. Maybe some of you...

Trying to get a successful balcony garden going

I know this thread is a bit old, but how many days did the Hot Cherry take to germinate? I'm having trouble germinating mine (don't know if it is because of the small seed size)
