It's not bad to try. Some people actually think it's not that bad; supposedly their porter is better than their pale. I thought it was a cool/hip idea when I first heard about it myself.

All 3 are currently in service. However, I originally made my chiller by wrapping it around this cylindrical rubbish bin in my basement...i still have it...unless you're afraid of it b/c it's plastic! :hell:

ha, sorry...went a few months off the board :'( . i'm doing better now though.

i kegged my harvest ale last night. it was an amber with a bunch of different specialty grains like belgium special b, honney malt, biscuit, etc. ya know, stuff i don't normally use (i.e. all crystal, ha). tasted like a pale. gotta wait another week or so for optimal conditioning!!11!

when are you tapping the punklin ale dispensing pumpkin btw? I want to be there to do the winning.

I BIG gave chim some gurney ipa and the pale ale I brewed; have yet to hear back from him though :_(

I was at a Cystic Fibrosis (CF) benefit yesterday where we could all watch the Cleveland Clowns (Browns) get slaughtered on 50 different TVs. Without much hesitation, I opted for the 10$ "beer garden" upgrade. This consisted of 4 local breweries showcasing a selection of their brews. Rocky...

But in all actuality, what's the worse than can happen? It gets a slight cidery taste? pshh, that'll just blend in w/ the pumpkin and you can say you wanted to out-do indigo imp :6 (barf). and besides, you get +5 post-cred

HA, that looks cooler than I originally pictured. "sanitized" the pumpkin', gotta love it. did you make sure you sanitized your hands, and the duck tape, and the scissors, and the ....

I swirl up the sediment and encourage the yeast to intermingle every day after the airlock stops bubbling.
