I see them, first picture, right above the centre of the picture on one of the buds.  See the those small white coloured bugs?  Check the underside of the leaves closer to the soil too, that's where I usually find them first. Take care of it soon before they spread out of control.

A few of them weren't squished and I kept, but I harvested seeds from the squished ones.     The green one picture ripened and is now almost fully yellow.   Thanks everyone for the feedback so far.

My third and biggest picking from this reaper. Has given me over 50 pods so far with many more to go. Probably my most productive plant. Quite happy since it's my first season growing.

I had the same issue.  Believe it or not it was birds, mostly pigeons.  I solved the problem by putting wooden BBQ skewers around the the edges of the pots so they would stop perching there.
