vendor Spices/Chillies on the Web .Co .Uk?

I've been ordering loads of Mexican dried whole chillies from them for a few years now. I live in Turkey and my box usually arrives from the UK in a few days. I always appreciate the quality. I used to order anchos, pasillas etc from the US and I usually got really dry, brittle pods; too old...

    New growth curled up

I did a search for Biobizz Coco EC test and found an interesting article on Hydromag issue 10 comparing different products. According to their test, my coco has a pretty high EC level (1.12) to start with. The product is advertised as having almost non existent EC. Damn, I should've read that...

    New growth curled up

Thank you for all your responses guys, I appreciate it. I've checked the plants for bugs and I can't see any. I thought it might be an overfeeding issue too but it's only on 3 plants out of 20. I do check the EC and pH of the solution every time before I apply it. It's 0.9-1 EC / 5.8-5.9 pH. I...

    New growth curled up

Most of my plants are healthy but this started a few days ago on new growth on a few plants. They've all been getting the same treatment, EC 1 / ph 5.8 water with 10-15% run-off. The EC of the run-off today was 0.8. I've built up to EC 1 from EC 0.6 gradually over 4 weeks.

    2016 plant out dates

I'm pretty far from you guys on the Aegean coast of Turkey. It's Mediterranean climate here which would be like Northern California coast in the US. We're expecting an average of 78F daytime for a week, to be followed by warmer weather so I plan to take my plants out soon when I have time. I've...

lighting New lights...did I get it right?

I was just about to say the same thing when I saw Scuba_Steve's comment, which I completely agree with. If each plant takes up 6 sqft at maturity, that means 12x6=72 sqft. That light is probably only good enough to cover an area of 6-8 sqft at a distance of 2 ft. Any distance higher might...

    PokPok's grow update

Thank you guys. I'm pretty happy so far.   8 plants are going into Autopots next week. I'm going to fill them up with 50/50 coco and hydroton. I'm going to Thailand for 2 weeks towards the end of this month so I got a 225 lt tank to keep them alive during that time. I hope all will be fine. I'm...

    PokPok's grow update

It's time to start hardening these guys off. Daytime temperatures are around 22C-72F these days and it'll keep going up. Mostly shade and a bit of noon sun for a couple of hours for the first few days. I plan to keep increasing their exposure each day for a week. By that time the night...

    PokPok's grow update

I also pruned the leaves of one of the smaller reapers I have. I don't think it'll end up in the final production system of Autopots due to limited number of pots I have but I just wanted to see how it'll behave.      Thank you!

    PokPok's grow update

I just noticed today that one of the 7-pots split into two stems and started flowering. I'll probably nip the flowers. Where I live, I have enough time well into November to get a big harvest so I just need them to grow big now.

breeding Are all hybrids safe? Is this even a chilli?

That's unlike any chilli plants I've seen. The leaf structure almost looks like a curry leaf tree.

    PokPok's grow update

Hey guys. I just wanted to give you an update on my first ever grow, to talk about how I'm doing things and problems I'm running into. I don't think I'll be able to update as often as if it were a glog so I've chosen to do it here.   I'm growing Scotch bonnets, reapers, chocolate scorpions...

I'm no expert on this and I hope that's not it but it looks like some photos that I've seen of mosaic virus.

media A guide to growing peppers in coco coir

Thank you guys so much for this post. Just when I was looking for some info about growing with coco. Most stuff I've found is on weed forums so it's not chilli specific.   This is my first ever grow and after doing some research I've decided to go with 8 autopots in my balcony in 50/50 coco...

    UK Season ?

Dennish, I live on the Aegean coast and those are about the same dates as the outside growing season here. Last frost is officially beginning of April for my area although it only hits in April once every 10 years or so.

    Chillihead and a new grower

Thank you Nicole. I haven't done anything yet besides plugging in the propagator. Where I usually fail is after this stage when you need to keep them alive. :)
