    The Great Kiwi Pepper Thread

Tofu, how late are we talking? I left them a bit late, too but things may come around. Everything has produced pods/baby pods except for a rather stubborn Brazilian starfish that is a fucking MONSTER for a bucket sized pot with buds that just don't want to break and the same goes for a Neil S...

Some weird disease, possibly? PLEASE ADVISE!

Nah. They seem to just lift off more or less. But the little buggers are everywhere! :/   What gives?

Some weird disease, possibly? PLEASE ADVISE!

G'day   Living in Auckland, NZ.   Have a Pubescens (Orange rocoto.. ID unknown) that has been struggling in a rather small-ish pot for a few years now. Been fed and has fruited.. just hasn't really done that great. Decided to repot the wee bugger today and whilst doing so, I noticed that there...

    The Great Kiwi Pepper Thread

I haven't been on this forum in a couple of years at least! Awesome to see a Kiwi chilli thread :) Growing some seeds again after a couple of years off - didn't know it was illegal to bring the seeds in but it would appear that I got lucky care of THSC. Got some Douglahs, THSC Neil S scorps...

overwintering Germinating and growing Rocoto in my winter?

Sorry, yeah - I was planning on using a germination mat. Auckland has a pretty cracker climate if you take out Antarctic southerlies and don't want it super dry & hot...  The thing I worry about most are my bananas :( And my chillis! :D Unless you talk about the political one which is one NZ...

overwintering Germinating and growing Rocoto in my winter?

Hi http://www.metservice.com/towns-cities/auckland/auckland-central That's the prediction for the next week and I think our shortest day is the 13th, possibly - so it's likely to stay somewhat similar. I am thinking about buying...

    Hello from Auckland, New Zealand

Welcome from the North Shore of Auckland, brother :D 35 varieties, aye? A small tip is to not buy your seeds off the non-specific chilli ops - I have had too many crap out. And germinate June-July :D That's my knowledge from 2 seasons.

    Multiple IDs :D

Hmmm, having the Jonah would make sense but I just looked and there's a fairly TSMR looking pod on it too? Awww I am sick of TSMR.. I learnt my lesson though. GERMINATE EARLY.

    Multiple IDs :D

I don't have a straight 7 Pot Red. It could be a Jonah, a Primo, HP22B? or a Brain out of the seeds I received. Those are the only red 7 Pot strains/non I have!

    Multiple IDs :D

So, what is THIS? TSMR or Brain? I'm guessing TSMR... And what is this? And this? My guess is a Brain. And this? TSMY or 7 Pot Yellow? It has to be one of the two. This? I took a slightly TSMR looking pod off it? And this? Caribbean Red? Congo Trinidad?

Dorset Naga or 7 Pot - Jonah... Or too early still? [LARGE IMAGES]

They seem to stop at a particular size.. they stick around seemingly doing nothing and then they ripen. It's not grow grow grow -> okay, not growth spurt is finished let's immediately start ripening! But I have some IDs to do later.. One thing I have learnt from chilli growing is to germinate...

Black Nagas - Do They Ripen to Red First?

They definitely have chinense flowers. They have a naga shape but they're not bumpy in the slightest. I did a quick Google search and there are thread titles somewhat similar but I couldn't find the answer!

Black Nagas - Do They Ripen to Red First?

I bought a black naga plant from a gardening store - A few pods have ripened but they have gone to red. Is this the first colour change or do I not have a black naga? I tasted one of the pods when green - they are definitely piquant :D

    Are fatalis finicky about anything?

Nah, I haven't changed anything. Actually, perhaps they were recovering from a spot of nute burn or the first drop could have been what Eepheus was talking about.

    Are fatalis finicky about anything?

Thanks but, really? 65oF minimum? My temps are 82oF in the day and 60-65oF at night. Is that really too little? That seems quite strange, really. To be fair though, maybe I'll pay more attention to number 11 :D

    Are fatalis finicky about anything?

Uhm, pretty decent sized. 3-4 gallons at least, I'd say. Sorry. 10 to 12 litres, edited for metric system users.

So, in regards to my fatali - should I give it more shade?

    Are fatalis finicky about anything?

I just checked. There is one small fruit still within the petals.

    Day length & fruiting

I suppose you'd expect that from perennials, wouldn't you?
